Everytime i fix one problem.. a new appear. This time, fuel consumption is way to high. If we give full throttle, it kinda just lose power. Driving normal, we have flame from exhaust, also sounds like a Ferrari.. hehe. Explosions from exhaust. We checked the injector and sealings. All looking good. Tested the fuel pump and replacement fuel pump. Still same.. What else can do this? Grim

Works perfectly for 30 minutes, then it starts to explode in the exhaust system. Loses all the power and stops. The engine is warm after a few minutes, so heat is probably not the problem. The spark plug is full of soot / black. Since it works well without problems for 30 minutes, we think everything mechanical is fine (nozzle, gas pump, etc.). We have cleaned the connection to ECU, Checked all cables ++ Has anyone experience a similar problem?. Or have any idea what can result in a problem like this?

Bought a 2005 4RT about 3 months ago now. When I first got it, let it idle when starting up until the fan came on. About 2-2 1/2 minutes. Read an ad about a product known as 2 Two 2 Cool ... claims to reduce engine temperatures. After reading all the claims and testimonials (only bad comments from people who haven't tried it), I decided to give it a go (is fairly cheap especially for the small amounts used for a 4RT). Now it takes 6-7 minutes for the fan to come on when starting and the frequency it comes on during a trial is so much less. Just my experience. Andrew

I have three Montesas, Two are project mopeds. I have a Cota 50 that is mostly complete but in need of total restoration I also have a Fura 50 that was partially restored but needs some engine bits. Where do you think is the best place to find buyers for them? I do most of my part finding on eBay but I am concerned I might not find the most enthusiastic buyers there. As they are fairly complete parting out seems a shame and I know I will then still end up with all the useless bits. Really I need the space more than the money but they do stand me some cash which I would like to get back.

Hi, I have a 2009 montesa repsol and it is "tapping". I have adjusted the valve clearances and checked the cam chain adjuster (which is fine). Even with the tappets set according to the manual I still have much too much tapping from the top of the engine... Any ideas what i'm missing? Cheers Jamie

So the 330 has always been smokey as long as I remember, but in the past I've just put it down to my dad using old oil This time I've had the carb apart, given it all a bit of a birthday and this is it running on the same fuel that's in the Dalesman. Was hoping to use it in a trial tomorrow but I don't think it's too happy Can't get video to upload, so have done a screenshot of it.

Hello all, I am working on a Cota 247 and need to refit the ignition flywheel. Does anyone have any tips to holding the engine from turning so I can torque the ignition flywheel nut? I found a suggested torque setting of 72 ftlbs, so if you could also confirm that is correct I would appreciate that also. Thanks in advance

Hi. Does anyone know the torque values for the cylinder nuts and cylinder head nuts on a montesa 314R? Failing that, does anyone know what it is for the 315? Also does anyone know where I can get a manual for a 314? Thanks.

Montesa 315R On my new bike...........a couple of questions.......??? a) Do I change it after 'running in' for the 1st time.........OR after 3 rides as the comprehensive HRC manual suggests...........I would prefer to change after initial running in..........just to be on safe side... b)Elf HTX 740 is recommended in manual and dealer... BVM............recommended it as the correct oil and the best/only oil to avoid potential 'clutch drag' c) Any other oil that's just as good...........(because it's bloody expensive for tansmission oil @

  19. Started by rhaines,

All the documents say that honda recommends elf htx 740 for the clutch for the 4rt. If you look on this site it says that the htx 740 oil is for a dry clutch, but the 4rt has a wet clutch. Anyone know why they recommend this oil. elf oil htx 740

  20. Hi, I'd greatly appreciate some help with this issue. If I fill the engine oil to the first line on the dipstick and have about 3 rides totalling about 12 hours, the engine gains about 100ml of oil and the transmission side is down 100ml. I pressure tested the engine and transmission side with about 3 pounds of pressure and no leakage detected. Once transmission is down 100 ml it is very difficult to shift and find neutral. Recently changed clutch frictions. Running Belray 85 in transmission. Thanks
