Montesa

Anyone experienced vibration on a 315R? Happens in any gear, when revs get up while travelling between sections. I've check all engine mounting bolts & they seem tight. or it this a normal 315R feeling (our beta is very smooth with no vibe at revs) TIA for any ideas / thought on this.

I have 2012 4RT with 60 hrs of use.Last owner mostly keep it in garage. I have the hot start problem after long practice that I have to wait 5-10 minute to start it up again . Today I go ride in quiet park .About 45 minutes of ride I stop and rest myself, after the engine off. I notice the water boiling sound inside the radiator and see a little amount of water from the drain hose. ( I had checked the water level yesterday).I use the premix coolant from Honda. Air temp is 38 degreeC. Maybe, if the engine temp is too hot the ECU would not let the engine run. Is it Ok? Any suggestion?

  7. Hi guys. Long time no update. long story short the bike had been left outside during all the really bad rain we have had! I had a bad feeling the engine had water in so removed the air filter housing and pipe, water came out. removed the drain screw on the carb and water came out. removed the enhaust manifold on the engine and water came out. I have slowly turned it over with my hand with all these items above left unscrewed and water came out... now no water is really coming out when I turn over. I have tipped the bike on its front about 30 degrees and no more water camr out. when I turn it over I get a bit of a gargaling water sound from the carb area. I have l…

Yesterday i answered a question that was really nagging in the back of my mind i flooded my 4rt in a stream. i had taken on water in a stream during a trial then went straight over the bars, the bike coughed and stopped i took the bung of the bottom of the air box lifted the bach wheel to empty it, really gently tried to turn over the motor, felt ok so gave it a kick,it fired straigt away and ran perfectly for the rest of the trial. stripped it out when i got home and could finde no water or muck in intake body put in a clean air filter and ran round the block a few times, maybe this fuel injection aint so bad after all???

Help again, sorry guys for my lack of maintenance skills? Have a 2002 315r and had a little water leak from what I thought was the water pump. I turns out it is leaking from a little hole (see photo) underneath the water pump. Have taken the cover off but cannot see how you get to it or should there just be a plug that goes in that has come out,

A quick search revealed nothing so here goes. Anyone had any luck replacing the water pump seal without splitting the case on a 4RT or the like? I hear rumors that is has been done but find nothing to back that up. I have the gaskets and such to split the case but I also have a trip pending this coming week and not a lot of time. I am hoping to be able to do the short fix then split the case and replace the oil seal as well once back from the trip.

Hey guys, my mates cota will not run unless the plug gap is set to about 10 thou. He has changed the points and condenser....then the coil.....then the mag, no change. Any ideas, it runs quite nice for around 15 sections, then fouls the plug(wet)....we kinda stumped what to try next, any suggestion gratefully received.

Hi guys, I've got a banjo bolt on the calliper that I can't stop weeping. I've had two go's at it now and it's still weeping, it's only very slight, looks wet around the bolt after a few days, should I leave it? Should I try hard fibre washers instead of copper ? Should I wrap the banjo threads in PTFE? Any ideas would be much appreciated guys

Guys, I use the Putoline 4 stroke oil in both engine and clutch without problem. When i emptied both this weekend having done a quick blast first, the clutch oil came out light grey! Smelt like oil, felt like oil, just looked "weird". It wasnt sludgy like how i'd expect it to look if water got in so im confused. I've probably used this set of oil for longer than normal as the bike hasnt had much use over winter... Do i have a problem or is it normal? Jza
