  3. Remove the piston from the master cylinder and remove any gunk that has built up on it , my brakes used to stick on a bit when the piston wouldn't fully return.

  5. Is petrol tank is vented properly? Tank vacuuming and not releasing fuel? Run it with petrol cap off to see if it dies
  6. grip the outer leg in a vice and run the bolt in with a battery drill on medium torque setting, then final tighten by hand. seemed to work for me. any other way the inner just spun as it started to tighten up. oh ye, also put the spring in and top cap on, its helps
  7. Possibly muck stuck behind the washer on the master cylinder, not letting the clutch auto bleed itself, or the adjustment screw on the lever in too far doing the same thing
  8. HK2218-RS SWING ARM you'll have to use your existing bushes cheaper ones http://www.simplybea...oduct_info.html skf ones http://www.simplybea...oduct_info.html also BLRB366748AA SHOCKER HK1216-2RS REAR BRAKE 6004-2RS WHEELS 32004x HEAD STOCK

    Beta 4T

Depends on how/what you want to ride, British champs prob not, there's a whole clan of us who ride them together, 6 out of ten of us on the beta 4 stroke all of different ages/abilities , all had various bikes and all love the 4 stroke beta, STD 250 really soft, tweaked 300 bags of power
  10. same here, pin that the gear drives on the water pump shaft had fallen out. remove the water pump cover and check to see if you can spin the impeller without any resistance if it does spin then the pin has fallen out.
  11. what about http://www.sportsdir...ket-mens-635009 also the tail on it stops mud from getting into your undercrackers

  14. if its a rev 3 then its pre 2009 have a look through these http://www.beta-uk.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=48&Itemid=157
  15. ye, wheel spacers either mixed up or not the right ones.
  16. it was easy to source, £2 from local bearing supplier, think it's something like this. http://medias.ina.de...SR;aScWDHP6pn45 See how much sideways play there is on the shaft and if there's alot it'll need doing. From what i can remember it was a little tricky to do, had to remove half the motor then knock/prise the bearing out, then put new bearing in, but if it is knackered then have a go, it would save you £100+ for a new fan assembly. i had my bike for 18month after i did it and it never came off again.
  17. This happened to my 2006 rev 3, ended up that the bearing in the motor was knackered and the blades were hitting the fan surround and then fan came off. replaced the bearing in the motor and roughed up the shaft and araldited the fan back on. didn't happen again. Think it was probably from washing the bike and not getting the bike warm enough for the fan to be running after.
  18. swing arm bearing are HK22-18RS as far as i know, think 4 of them at about £4-5 each from a bearing supplier, thats just for the bearings, if the steel spacers are gone you'll have to replace them too, but generally they are ok wiht a bit of a polish got a 99 techno partslist with some bearing code if you want it. pm me
  19. have a look on the casing just below and behind the carb, where the swing arm bolt goes through the engine casing
  20. possibly build up of dirt in the caliper seal grooves, which then makes the seal tigher and doesn't let it return when you release the lever. re-strip it and try to scrape out as much as possible, use a little mirror and you'll be able to see all the dirt in the groove. also make sure the piston on master cylinder can return fully (adjustment screw not too far in?)
  21. Shoe goo, have a look on fleabay, used to use it back in my skateboarding days, pretty tough stuff
  22. yep, sound right. only 1 pick up point on the flywheel
  23. go for the best condition bike you can find what ever it is, if you're just starting out the differences between the makes won't really matter. you could probably get a tatty 2006 for £1000 that would cost you alot to upkeep or a tidy 2003 which would ride almost identically but not cost you so much to run personally a good condition beta rev 3 or montesa 315
