    Ossa Future

At least Ossa wasn't boring Just think what a trial would be like with everyone on 4RTs?

    Ossa Future

I don't think Nigels being anything other than realistic. 249 seems well informed but surely someone with a bit passion designed the Ossa? All seems a bit of a waste.
  3. Mostin, out of curiosity could you pick that bike up if you dropped it in a section? It looks so heavy.
  4. Good guess all the rest are too nice to slag you off on TC. All you need to be a trials rider is a GSOH and the ability to humliate yourself at any point .
  5. Aye bridge is open so they'll be plenty Fifers there. Thank god you got some new gear, full face helmets and leather gauntlets don,t really cut t even at Wobblers Trials. Get over to Kidlaw there's no even a toll now.the banters great and I might even take you round as long as you can tolerate a 10 tear old on an Oset coming too. Cheers the noo and watch out for the collie dugs.
  6. Hi Chad, I too run a spare set of lead acids for the wee boys 20 racing. Always charge them on the bike but I reakon I could swap them in less than 2 minutes. Did away with the fiddly battery bag and use heavy duty reusable cable ties to keep everything in place. Dont know if this is good practice but the bike does get used under trial conditions with no problems. Maybe see you around. Cheers the noo.
  7. Planning on entering again so I'll put him down as my riding partner. As I was in Lanzarote last week my Spanish is up to speed what more could he want. In fact I'm drinking a bottle of San Miguel as I post. Dos cerveza por favour as we say in the Ben Nevis bar (next May anyway)
  8. I wonder though if you were new to trials and your first play was on the EM would you be keen to jump to petrol? I suggest these bikes must be much easier for the beginner to ride? Furthermore you don't need to be some sort of home spun mechanic to keep them running. .

    Trs Bike Unveiled

Surely you have to give credit to Vertigo ror developing such a radical bike in the publc eye? I don't think JD would for a second would criticise the bike and surely it is fair to point out the bike is being developed and not the finished product. Ossa rushed things and look where they ended up and I don;t think they ever got the efi 100% Offside we've been riding our luck offroad with these carb thingys for years.
  10. Latest I heard VW were interested in Ossa. Needing some technology to mak smoky things run right!
  11. Modern bikes need very little if you look after them and ride within your limits. You can't really improve on a stock bike in fact most of us would be better of on a Bultaco if the truth be known.
  12. Hi dooey.if you fancy venturing into Lothian this Sunday the Lothian Trials Club will be running a beginners friendly Trial near Gifford. Long as you can master the basics it's normally doable and there's always plenty help. You wont be alone there's always plenty new folk. No pack drill, just turn up and ride, more details on their website. Cheers the noo.
  13. Good point ,Don't need much servicing compared to bike though.
  14. Amazing how back in the day we managed to ride these old twinshocks with brakes that were just for show and never even thought about clutching. Now the sections are a shadow of what they were good brakes and a superlight clutch are essential. Can someone explain this? .
  15. Off topic but I think efi will be like like going from drum brakes to disc.once the moves made you wont want to go back. These electric bikes too.can't say I'm excited but if the wee boys Oset is anything to go by things will change. Now you no longer need to be some sore of home grown mechanic to keep things gong. Easier to learn on too by a mile. The hinges on the door of room 101 are being oiled ready to take in all these old petrol things!
  16. Well I've nothing to complain about,I'm getting about 3 hours general trials going with 2 sets os lead acid batterys. The ease of operation has no comparison to a petrol bike and maintenance is virtually nil. I was never sold on the first Osets but this one bears no resemblence to them. It's fuss free trials.
  17. Marketing machines ? You're having a laugh promotion is almost annoyingly poor. Makers seem to rely on the clubs and a few well meaning dealers to move bikes. Don't suppose they could supply a large surge in demand anyway.
  18. Can't say fairer than that.it would be positively rude to refuse. However Ross.let me remind you it's bad form for any Scot to give away money. You really should know better.
  19. Agree,but I bet his dad doesn't.
  20. Never be as good as his old man though.
  21. I think a lot of good riders get chased away by the way the expert route is run. Though I only speak for up here, at Championship level every section has an A route. Always seems really heavy handed. This means the step up is significant .and just too much for most. Don't know if this is mirrored throughout the uk.

    Tr280I Premix

Inyeresting,I run 100/1 after I had a problem and it does start worse when hot. Previously I ran 120 and I agree there is a difference. At the ssdt it was 50/1 for all and though it ran well enough starting when hot was poor.. Never really though about this before. .
  23. Fair enough top level trials are pretty distant from what the majority of us do on a Sunday. However it has come about due to the devlopment of lightweight bikes. Like a 75kg Bultaco!
  24. Someone sober enough in Glasgow to ride a trials bike! congratulations. Lothians the one to start of with as there's always someone to shepherd new folk round. As long as you have basic bike skills it's usually rideable with a bit help. Helmet is a must and really should wear knee length boots as the shins can take a real beating, gloves too. Even if you don't fancy riding it's worth popping along to get the low down. The trial will be rubbish but the banters great, just like our trials. Cheers the noo..
  25. Surprised if there's 700 Spaniards that can afford a new split link at the moment! Anyway, wasn't it a company like Montesa/Honda that tried to get us all on 4 strokes thus undermining the whole industry? Must be mistaken.
