Trs Clutch Effort
With careful assembly and careful attention to the pack height a diaphragm hydraulic clutch is significantly better than a Bultaco clutch and can be operated with one finger. The Bultaco was a great bike in its day, that day was nearly 40 years ago.

How Do You Add A Flywheel Weight 2008 300 Txt Pro
I've heard the main bearings story many times and still don't agree, it's probably the same gas gas person. I fitted flywheel weights to my 280s. One bike did the ssdt with one fitted and was then ridden every week until the following years ssdt without any main bearing issue. Only main bearing failure on a gas gas bikes I have experienced were both on bikes I bought second hand so you never really know the history.

airbox
I had a 303 fantic years ago with the air intake on the side, riding upstream it was very easy to get water in the box. So I blanked the holes off and drilled two holes the same size in the top of the box. It was terrible, big flatspot and a lot less torque. I then cut the tubes or trumpets off the original holes on the inside of the box and glued them onto the new holes. This made a huge difference. So those tubes act as a baffle or restrictor and taking them off made the bike worse not better. On the original design when the side cover was fitted the other end of the tube was very close to the other side of the filter box. I got the same effect by glueing the tubes at an angle so they were close to the back panel of the box. On this basis I don't agree that more air is always better on a trials bike, it certainly wasn't in this case. People were making larger air filter boxes for air cooled Yams but they needed re jetting to run properly. So it may be more complicated than just making the box bigger. Finally Nigel Birkett used to reduce the air Intake on the Tyz with duct tape which made them easier to ride. So I think you need to try one first, it's by no means guaranteed to be better because it's bigger.

stupidity prize?
I've got to a trial and noticed compression was lower than last week. Turns out the spark plug was still on the bench in the garage.

Setting Race Sag? '17 Raga (Reiger)
I'm not really sure what he means ? Are you saying take all the sag out of the shock and then wind the spring down another 10mm ?

A Class act!
Having watched Chris ride the Em in British Championships ,and I think he's been on the podium in the expert class , there's no doubting the bikes are capable

Setting Race Sag? '17 Raga (Reiger)
I'd always set my rear suspension up with sag previously but you don't need to do this with the Reiger shock on the RR. Out of the box they don't have sag, neither does the vertigo with the same shock. It doesn't top out like you would expect and provides greater lift. I presume something is different in terms of damping compared to other shocks I have used. Its very good, if you need a heavier spring for your weight they are available.

Gas Gas factory bike detail
Anyone seen the video tour of Casales Vertigo. They have tiny in line radiators in the hoses, Dougie calls them an intercooler. Just a thought to make bikes more suitable for the longer trials could the FIM specify a minimum coolant capacity ? Much more useful than a minimum weight as it should aid reliability?

Casales on Dunlop
Aren't some production bikes coming with Dunlop now as well? Still Michelin for me ?

Cant start up the bike
I did here someone at a trial saying that either taking the lanyard off or leaving it on was draining the battery. Try leaving it on and see what happens

Busto and Fajardo to Gas Gas
Fajardo seems to be rejuvenated this year. As ever its difficult to determine what actually is happening. Is fajardo riding that much better or are Fujinami and Raga just riding worse due to injuries before the season started ? Cabestany also has hit a bit of form compared to last year. It's not dull and I think the qualifying helps. Being able to watch it live is great.

241 fork oil
Hi Can anyone remember how much fork oil goes in a 241 Fantic? Thanks

2018 RR
I run the nils oil. It's almost like water it's that thin. You could try putoline light gear oil or something like that, a bit thicker oil will make the clutch softer. Just try moving the Iever toward the centre of the bars ?

2014 4RT poor rear brake
It works and isn't dangerous in my experience. No different to crossing a stream at the foot of a long descent
