  1. i think the the clutch plates from one of the MX bikes fitted, maybe people jumped to a conclusion from that ? I think Honda only sell cranks for the MX bikes from memory but you can probably get aftermarket con rods, hopefully one will fit the 315 ?

    Footpegs

no problem with grip with the Raptors and they dont seem to damage the soles of your boots. i'm not on commission but maybe i should be

    Footpegs

I bought a set of Raptors in 2007 i'm still using them thats four SSDTs and three Reeth 3 days for a start never mind everything in between. get them bought, dont know if other brand titanium pegs are as good.
  4. Hi I'm trying to place and ad but I keep getting error messages saying the country, region and city are too short and too long ? me no understand ? Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I'd have thought United Kingdom was long enough an entry for country.
  5. IF and its all just talk at the minute, but if Honda are pulling the plug then this may be the catalyst needed to force change. I dont know if Beta could afford to run Bou and Dabill but where would Fuji go ? Gas Gas already have Gubian, Raga, Brown, Grattarola and maybe Wigg which seems too many. On top of this the organisers cant afford to run the events without external support. The FIM need to look seriously at participation and costs.
  6. most manufacturers of trials bikes deny there is a problem with issues like this or wait till a part fails then provide the new one under warranty. I think this is progress for us as customers.
  7. not sure but I think Dabills deal is 2 years so that would mean he stays put. Nowhere else for Fajardo to go unless he has a private backer Cant see the rest going anywhere unless they stop riding WTC how about Fuji to enduro ? in the UK who will go to Sherco instead of Wigg ?
  8. look up Trueba on youtube awesome ! where is he practising, there seems to be an indoor style trials training park in every town, not somthing you see in the uk !
  9. that is absolutely fantastic. THANKYOU !!
  10. people were doing stoppies long before 4 pot calipers so you should have better performance than you describe. first of all I'm assuming if you hold the lever tight to the bar the pressure is maintained ? if not check seal in master cyl or hose for damage. once thats done I'd take the pads out and remove caliper from bike, put a bolt in the caliper where it normally attaches to fork leg to stop caliper splitting then pump the lever whilst holding one piston with pliers and see if the other moves. Do the same with the other piston. The exercise above will let you know if the piston is seized as both should move when the other is clamped. If they are not moving you need to get the pistons out and check for pitting / corrosion. if the piston is damaged either get a rebuild kit or buy a complete four pot caliper. what brand of pads are you using ?
  11. you should only be using the choke jet when the engine is cold, probably for first 30 seconds to a minute, after that the choke should be turned off. Are you sure its the choke jet your talking about ? if its not idling when warm turn the choke off, if its off already then the pilot jet is your problem or somthing else is wrong.
  12. we need an emoticon which shows somebody yawning then every time there is a BTC round and the day after somebody starts this debate again I can use it in my reply. 6 riders isnt a lot But if the importers support the riders who compete and the organisers are happy to set a course for six riders then let them all get on with it. I cant see that it affects most of us in the slightest.
  13. They were on TC the week after and are also on www.bedlingtonmotorclub.co.uk should have made time to meet you sorry but didnt realise your were coming until you posted after the trial.
  14. you know sometimes I think i might never beat him... push the dark thoughts aside I CAN beat him, its all in the head !
  15. I thought this thread was going to advise on writing to girlfriends ?
  16. Thanks for the positive feedback, on the whole we were very pleased with how the event went considering we havent run a two day before. I think on balance the hard and middle course riders seemed happy with the event, certainly the riders I spoke to were. The easy course was more of a mixed bag and its difficult to please everybody as this class has riders with different requirements. We had some easy course riders retire on the saturday and sunday as parts of the course were too much for them. For next year we need to find an easier way down one of the hills in particular to make the trial more accessible. At the other extreme we had easy course riders who wanted more of a challenge and objected to riding the bank sides rather than the streams, this really only applied on saturday. I would appreciate more feedback from those on the easy course, I think we need a straw poll and go with the majority as we are not going to be able to please everyone. My two favourite comments of the weekend are both attributable to the same easy course rider, Colin Lee. On saturday during lap one he said " I think I have died and gone to trials heaven". Thats very positive feedback if you have put a lot of time into an event, thanks Colin. On Sunday upon hearing some easy course riders were unhappy Colin said "well I'm SH*T but I'm enjoying it and you can quote me on that". Priceless ! I'd like to thank everyone who helped us out, particularly those riders who observed. If you thought about riding but didnt have a look at Ray Crinsons photos linked to the results on the front page and hopefully we'll see you next year. We hope to have our own campsite and possibly some more land... I'll keep you posted.
  17. My mate had his garage broken into on Weds night, one of four in his street to be turned over. Thieves took a TTR 125 and a 2006 SY 250 Scorpa, they ditched the TTR up the road, probably as they couldnt get it to start without a key but the Scorpa is gone. This guy has only just come back into trials and helped us mark out last weekends event, the bike is not insured. Please contact me if your offered a 2006 model Scorpa this bike has an in line stat between the cylinder head and radiator which is unusual on a scorpa and the sump guard has been drilled by the water pump and clutch cover, it also has a birkett modified water pump and the rear mudguard is cracked.
  18. you must have the wrong end of the stick my bikes insured with MSM, its not MOt'd as its not even only a year old so no need.
  19. I agree with Dabster Its all very well looking at a factory special ridden by talented rider and thinking its a great bike. The bike in question in the videos on youtube sounds more like a YZF 400 than a 250f scorpa. I tried a 250f scorpa a couple of years ago and frankly it was bloody awful, very heavy and the motor made noise but didnt really seem to have useable power. The motor is 'kin enormous and the back sprocket was a 46 or 48t, even with that size sprocket only first was useable unless the section was a hill climb. If they were the thing to have why did no one buy one when they were available ?

    Confused

In 1993 Gas Gas introduced the crankcase reed motor for the 250, in the UK this was great for the better riders but a bit of a handful for the average rider. Gas Gas did a limited edition called an economy part way through the year. The economy title is misleading as the bike had the 1992 model engine with the reed block on the cylinder but fitted with hydraulic clutch and various other 1993 bits. It was a very good bike for 99% of people. regards trials nerd.
  21. Been to Alwinton again all day setting the route between the sections and getting the slime scrubbed off. Thanks to Peter Darke, Ian Stephens James, Phillip, Paul, Andrew and Colin Battensby. All looking good for a great trial. Just a reminder the nearest fuel station is about 8 miles away and its not cheap. Bring enough fuel for the weekend. I think you will need 8 litres Saturday based on starting with a full bike and another 6 for Sunday. Cheers
