  1. I have the same problem being between sizes so last time I got the larger one then took some padding out of an MTB lid and taped it under the liner. Maybe not ideal but better than removing my ears when I remove my lid.
  2. Jack Challoner has done a great job in his first year. As somebody else pointed out recently everyone else bar Jack has been at the top since before the Bou era commenced, as raga, cabestany, fajardo and fuji get older it becomes less likely they will beat Bou. So logically it needs to be either Jack or somebody else new to the top class. anyone think within two years somebody will emerge to topple Bou ? if not Dougies record may not last, its not that long ago I never thought somebody could do 7 years consecutive as World Champ again.
  3. Have a look on splatshop they will probably have the parts in stock. I'd flush the engine through now with some cheap oil to make sure you got all the coolant out.

    I'm lucky!

Donald really you protest too much. the one piece made its debut in the 2006 ssdt, but that was before I went onto the intensive pie diet.

    I'm lucky!

just a friendly tip really. My first ssdt I was three numbers front of my dads supported rider, John Reynolds. Beforehand I thought I 'd be able to ride around with him and learn from his experience. Mondays first sections were on the Ben with a couple of miles of off road to get there. JR passed me before we got to the sections and was riding the first one as I got there. I panicked thinking i'm going far too slow but I cant ride much faster than this. I just hadnt appreciated how quick the good guys are and there was no need to panic. If the guys in this thread are first timers I just want them to realise beforehand that Dibs being quicker than them isnt a big deal if it happens, its only a problem when everyone leaves you for dead. In my experience the top guys are happy to give advice if your at a section when they are.
  6. I think this is more about the locations ability to subsidise ossa. ie if they stay put no euro grant, if they move free new factory ?

    I'm lucky!

Every morning the two newcombers will see dibs in the parc ferme. Dibs will run up section one and be gone while the two new guys discuss yesterday. Dont let the fact dibs is near you put you off, the top guys are so quick you wont see much of him anyway. Just enjoy the ssdt for what it is, the best trial in the world !
  8. I'll talk to you if you get into 6 figures OTF, maybe next week ??
  9. welcome to my world, you may be my apprentice !
  10. I happen to know that Mark, like myself, is partial to TC forums whilst tipsey. So I have now consumed a bottle of wine and read this again. I must ask, Mark WTF are you on about ?

    Mr. Z

now known as the negative infinity guy
  12. Hey just thought this means nearly 2 million people where interested enough to read my posts and frankly nobody is interested in what the rest of you say. Nobody liked my posts but thats a different question really.. COOL !
  13. I asked what bike you have as you should not put fully synthetic in the gearbox of a Gas Gas as it has been known to cause the clutch pack to swell, then the clutch will drag. I have noticed petrol mixed with fully synthetic does not ice the carb as badly in cold weather. other than that I doubt there is much difference.
  14. infinity is a negative number ?

    Mr. Z

    Not any more he doesnt.....
  16. Andy I think your assuming a greater level of maturity in the forum users than is actually there. It works now but I used up all my negatives in 5 minutes on Copey ? I can think of some use for it where people post bad advice but can also see it getting out of hand at times
  17. I have just tried to give Ham2 negative feedback but I'm told I have reached my quota of negatives today ? its the first time I have tried to use it ? Ham deserves a negative for never riding his bike and drinking cider ! seems fair doesnt it?
  18. do you mean in your petrol or gearbox ? which bike are we talking about ?
  19. Children read this site from time to time and I think suggesting Big John is a bit AC/DC is innappropriate....
  20. I thought Ellgren gear came out in the 80's, they must be the prototypes ?
  21. If larger master cylinder meant larger piston in the Master cylinder you would be correct, however the pistons are the same size. I have been through all this with my gas gas. the only difference I could find was the lever ratio is slightly different. The larger cylinder did make the clutch lighter but moving the lever down the bar will achieve a similar result and leave roughly

    Works 240

Thats a great video I had a 240 Beta Twinshock, as ridden by Pedro Olle, when I was 16, fantastic bike, great times.
  23. Not sure what a gas gas holds about 3 litres I think but i rode the last 2 SSDTs on a standard tank and never went onto reserve. If you were to carry 500mls that would be enough but I dont think the army guys will refill the bottle for you during the day. so if you were to use the spare bottle on the first check you would have none the rest of the day.
