  1. This is how far apart the ability levels are now. 30 years ago a good centre rider could ride a world round Today many people riding a centre trial couldnt get across those rocks with the engine running. Got to applaud the skills but the gulf in ability is now enormous between the top 4 or 5 and Joe Public.
  2. Spent all day Sunday clearing more new sections with help from Ian and Callum Frizzel, Harry Craig and Team Battensby. Colin Battensby has set up a facebook page for Bedlington Motor Club and photos of the sections we found on Sunday are now on there. Its looking really good, some more entries would be nice !
  3. the link between sales and WTC must be recognised as being broken by now. who really considers world or even british champ results when buying a new bike ? if the wtc is driven by a desire to increase sales then it doesnt work. Sherco must have sold far more bikes in the UK this year than last. at the end of last year cabby wasnt really any further forward and Brown left Sherco despite the new bike. IF the WTC was driving sales Sherco should have sold less bikes really.
  4. only 2 non japanese riders in the junior category see Wiggy is entered
  5. I have a 2011 250 sherco its the only bike I have ever had that starts first kick form cold every time, either at home or at the trial. I think you may need to clean the fuel valve out, perhaps the float is sticking ? you can fit an in line fuel tap, I have one but only use it when removing the carb to clean it.
  6. is the water getting in when you pressure wash the bike or during the trial ? if its only when you pressure wash i wouldnt drill it, just avoid jet washing the gasket and cable area. Cant you silicone the cable route with RTV or somthing ?
  7. Been to Alwinton today making sections, a long day but found some great stuff. Colin, Andrew, James and Phillip Battensby, Ian Chilley and myself spent the day making sections in the first new gulley we have access to. Photos are on Photobucket, please click My link For people who dont know the area I took one scenery shot to give you and idea of how good a location this is. The Farmer turned up later and took us (on his quad, what a bloke !) over to the other new gulley we have access to. This looked really good but will need a lot of work before hand so we are going back on Sunday. I'll post more photos later.
  8. Three Days Valtellina is the title I think from a quick search on the web. i'll try and the the club etc
  9. True, but there is more to it than that. Don't expect to see him riding a Sherco any time soon.... erm what like 3 days after the above was posted only pulling your leg......
  10. well I was talking to Nigel Greewood recently who has been to a 3 day trial in the Italian alps which sounded brilliant. So my current plan if the dates work would be Italian alps one weekend, andorra the next then back home, spend the week in between at a coastal resort in france perhaps. what do you reckon, could be a brilliant trip !
  11. Renthal Fat Bars are 4.5mm rise dont know if you mean fat bars or std renthal size ? Renthal do std bars in various heights and bends but only one height and bend of Fat Bar.
  12. No problem Gary I'm posting details on here as I said I would and i'm looking forward to getting involved in the coming weeks but its very much a club event rather than a Baldilocks event. I think we should aim to give everybody a course they enjoy whatever class or bike they choose to ride, with three courses that should be achievable.
  13. Yes there will be a seperate route which will be ridden by Easy course riders on any machine and those competing on pre 65's and twinshocks. There will also be clubman and expert routes. We are hoping to get people from around the country who may expect a pre 65 class means an entirely seperate pre 65 route. Talking to Colin Battensby on monday night before posting this we thought it would be wise to make it clear its not a specific course for Pre 65s and some riding a pre 65 may, depending on the rider, find it challenging. I'm sure you will be fine however. hope this clarifies.
  14. Entry forms are now available for the Alwinton 2 day trial. Please visit the club website My link for entry forms and accomodation. Course will be 3 laps of 15 sections on the Saturday of approximately 5 miles per lap Sunday will be 2 laps of 20 different sections to the Saturday, approximately 7 miles per lap. Both days are entirely off road. Observers permitting there will be no double subs. The terrain will be challenging in parts for pre 65s but we will endeavour to accomodate people wishing to ride a pre 65 on the easy course. We have secured some additional land from what was first promised and now have two entirely new areas at our disposal. This is excellent trials land with lots of natural terrain and we intend to make this a thoroughly enjoyable event for all. The actual course will be prepared over the next month and photos will be posted when available to show the terrain. Any further questions please email me.
  15. I think they are both minders..... the guy on the gas gas is Marc Frexia, former world round winner, not sure about the guy on the mont
  16. If someone buys it can i have a recording of the conversation with the insurance company. Insurance Co. What make of bike is it please sir ? Owner. its a yamonda Insurance Co. Eh ? I dont have that bike listed, has it been modified ? Owner. well erm......
  17. This afternoon I'm off to rural northumberland to a small village called Alwinton. Bedlington and Seaton Delaval clubs in the North East Centre both run events in this area. In September the Bedlington club are to stage a two day trial based at Alwinton which will use a new area next to the existing Bedlington trial. Today i'm going to walk round with Colin Battensby, club secretary, and see how many sections we can find. Hopefully we can run two days with two laps of 20 different sections. It would be great to get riders from other parts of the UK to ride as well, its an excellent location with lots of natural terrain. There is limited accomodation in the area but there is also a campsite nearby. I'm intending to update this thread with how the preparations are going, details of accomodation, entry forms etc. I'll update early next week how today went. the event is pencilled in for the 3/4th September. David Moffat and Big John we are expecting you ! Cheers
  18. I more interested in the warranty side of this than fitting a yamaha coil. To be fair my current Sherco is coming up 4 months old, its one of only two bikes i have had in recent years that have not required some parts under warranty. Other bikes i have owned have been Betas, Gas Gas and a Scorpa. the other bike with no warranty claims was also a Sherco.... Warranty is good but not as good as not needing it in the first place.
  19. what did you use to fit the tyre ? tyre soap, fairy liquid, wd 40 ?
  20. Rode a new cabby today forks seem really plush, a little softer than the Paiolis but they are probably on the softest setting out of the box. Motor wasnt as savage as a 2010 cabby, quite smooth for a big motor, not as sharp as a 300 Raga but thats no bad thing for 99% of us.
  21. your not understanding this fella spokes and rims are metal so its next to impossible without Quality control way beyond a trials bike to make the spokes actually seal by themselves. So the idea is the rim tape stops the air before it gets to the spokes. Lots of people have lots of ways if doing this but i only know what works for me. remove tape, cover every spoke head in RTV silicone and around the valve hole. Refit rim tape making sure its exactly in the grooves all the way round. then forget about it forever.
  22. Marzocchis have a bolt through the left fork leg that taps into the spindle. Dont know about the internals but they dont look like Marzocchis
