  1. I'll talk to you if you get into 6 figures OTF, maybe next week ??
  2. welcome to my world, you may be my apprentice !
  3. I happen to know that Mark, like myself, is partial to TC forums whilst tipsey. So I have now consumed a bottle of wine and read this again. I must ask, Mark WTF are you on about ?

now known as the negative infinity guy
  5. Hey just thought this means nearly 2 million people where interested enough to read my posts and frankly nobody is interested in what the rest of you say. Nobody liked my posts but thats a different question really.. COOL !
  6. I asked what bike you have as you should not put fully synthetic in the gearbox of a Gas Gas as it has been known to cause the clutch pack to swell, then the clutch will drag. I have noticed petrol mixed with fully synthetic does not ice the carb as badly in cold weather. other than that I doubt there is much difference.
  7. infinity is a negative number ?

    Not any more he doesnt.....
  9. Andy I think your assuming a greater level of maturity in the forum users than is actually there. It works now but I used up all my negatives in 5 minutes on Copey ? I can think of some use for it where people post bad advice but can also see it getting out of hand at times
  10. I have just tried to give Ham2 negative feedback but I'm told I have reached my quota of negatives today ? its the first time I have tried to use it ? Ham deserves a negative for never riding his bike and drinking cider ! seems fair doesnt it?
  11. do you mean in your petrol or gearbox ? which bike are we talking about ?
  12. Children read this site from time to time and I think suggesting Big John is a bit AC/DC is innappropriate....
  13. I thought Ellgren gear came out in the 80's, they must be the prototypes ?
  14. If larger master cylinder meant larger piston in the Master cylinder you would be correct, however the pistons are the same size. I have been through all this with my gas gas. the only difference I could find was the lever ratio is slightly different. The larger cylinder did make the clutch lighter but moving the lever down the bar will achieve a similar result and leave roughly

Thats a great video I had a 240 Beta Twinshock, as ridden by Pedro Olle, when I was 16, fantastic bike, great times.
  16. Not sure what a gas gas holds about 3 litres I think but i rode the last 2 SSDTs on a standard tank and never went onto reserve. If you were to carry 500mls that would be enough but I dont think the army guys will refill the bottle for you during the day. so if you were to use the spare bottle on the first check you would have none the rest of the day.
  17. Has any factory rider ever said i didnt qualify as the bike is pants ?

I always think copying the works exhaust only may not be the best route. I doubt a standard 240 had too much grunt for someone like John Lampkin which makes me think they probably had tuned up the engine first then fitted the back box. Steve Robson did a few conversions in the North East so it could be anyones old bike really.
  19. I think we are about to find out if the indoor wtc has any impact on bike sales. Dibs hasnt made the semis let alone the final since changing to Beta. Thats a big drop from last year's performance. see Jack Lee was minding for Challoner ?

I can say i'm surprised as I found them very helpful, talk to Andy or Kev Hipwell.
  21. Why not take the Paul Lowther approach with the Mrs ? Paul can be somewhat eccentric the year we rode round together was the only time Paul has rode, I met him at his house very early on the sunday to travel up. Paul had previously been to watch many times but never for the full week. as we were leaving he shouts to his Mrs "I'll see you next sunday" to which she replies "are you going for the full week ? you never said". Paul replied " I'm sure I told you" before pushing me out of the door, once outside he added "I didnt tell her I was riding either !!"
  22. you probably had too much air in your tyres...
  23. Ive done the SSDT 12 times now and its a superb week, its Reeth 3 day and the SSDT for me as the stand out events, I ride the rest of the year nowadays just to keep fit for these two events. This however is the only problem I have found and it was remarked upon last week by Perce. Once you have done the SSDT everything else bar reeth is ordinary, at best, in comparison... if you think you have the slightest chance of doing it then do it. its fantastic !
