Didn't they make a 125 which was the same as 200 with chain on other side and you could fit 156 top end. I bought and sold one then found out I could have converted it after I sold it.

I am over 14 stone near 15 maybe and I have the 125, it pulls me no problem. When the flywheel mod was done to some bikes I have heard they can stall easily as Woody points out, I never bothered with the mod on my bike. Also I went down a tooth on the front sprocket as well. Only bug bear is you need to keep an eye on the carburation, it tends to flood or cough and stall easily on the 125 annoying if a steep drop in a section you need to blip the throttle, maybe not on the later 175s I don't know. As I have said before they are a cracking bike and low maintenance as well, none of that radiator nonsense to be messing with. There is a 175 for sale in the classifieds on here, I have seen it and it is a tidy bike.

I was talking to a bloke I know at a trial last Sunday he has a 240 we were looking at, it is a W reg 1981. Bill Pye dated it for him.

I think as Kawasaki were the smallest of the big 4 as they say they were at the time pushing the road bikes Z900s (lost count how many I owned) the 2 stroke triples as well as others. They didn't want to be left behind as road bikes were selling like hot cakes back then and the Kt didn't last as it was only sold in small numbers over here. Saw one at HCTC trial last Sunday a regular from South Wales.
  15. Just a quick glance on Wobblywills site (google it) there are the following clubs in Hampshire... Gosport and dist, Alton and district, Haslemere and Waterlooville. I am not from your area so can't comment as I know nothing of these clubs or where they are in relation to you. Looks like a bit going on down there though. Got to be some on here from that neck of the woods I would have thought.
  16. Not a KTM but to give you an idea. It's not right though is it ?? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uMKR32MiSsw
  17. Hey OTF is this the one you were introducing the a/c mono class in to a while back to make up the numbers ? If so looks like they are coming out? A/c mono's have their place as well.
  18. If you have the ally plate and is still riveted to the frame that should suffice. Take the V5 with you when you MOT it just in case they ask. Re stamping never looks right on a Jap bike. Okay on an old Brit clunker as most looked dodgy even when new.

As I said a rebadged Mont. You can see the Montesa M on the frame behind the g. box sprocket. Called Hondas in Japan.
  20. I have seen a few with early GasGas rear disc conversions in the past, maybe what you have. If it is a Talon hub it should be stamped on sprocket side and the spokes may be different as they are on the Talon drum hub.

Sounds like a Japanese home mkt version of the Montesa with a few changes. Can you post a picture ??
  22. Go on then I'll give you

  24. Does anyone know the fork leg diameter of a Beta Rev 3 250. 2001 model ? Thanks in advance.
  25. What I do know is the 230 uses a longer stroke/aftermarket crank available 20 yrs ago. The only gearbox I heard about is the Golner ones again from back in the day with closer ratios I believe, first to second anyway. There is a nice modified 200/ 230 on www.shedworks.net
