  1. They `lost` quite a few riders on that steep down hill. It was too steep to return to the trail again. They were left too cut there own trail back to camp. One of them was a Pro riders minder. He was still missing his minder at Colorado!
  2. The pin between the lever and the master cylinder piston can be shortened. Do this in small steps to get it right. This is the best solution for small hands. Good luck.
  3. Yeah, my son is at Stock Ranch Colorado already. The Tillamook National I`m sure he will remember always. Perfect first National from my stand point. Thanks to all that worked on the event!
  4. The young riders are used to very short loops and sections there mommy`s can get to, too watch. The older guys enjoy a day long ride and never rode to impress people, just have the fun themselves. The new riders of the last 20 years have no appreciation that the loop is actually part of the event. Also people forget what the old twin shocks are capable of, but slippery long down hills was not real fun on one. Just hope my 348 makes it through the Colorado event!
  5. Just talked to my son. Frexia easily won both days. Very slick conditions and silly loop. No cell service at the event, so info slow coming out. http://mototrials.info/?trigger=result&format=sn08&15plus=Y&ser=10&yyyy=2016&dd=18&mm=06&cityid=or&sct=12
  6. My PWK has worked flawlessly ever since I added the second vent.
  7. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q3cyFuemAXQ The tower that no gaskets are available is a terrible problem.
  8. And then there`s the mud with no traction, full rear brake (Yes clutch is used) to get the front up and over an obstacle and at the same time the most traction available. All done with the rear brake, instead of wheel slip.
  9. I will again be Trialsmaster for ITSA Nationals rounds 5 & 6. It will be hosted by Mountain West Vintage Trials assoc. http://mtwestvintagetrials.org/event/sipapu-nm-aug-13-14-2016/?instance_id=318 Once again it will be at Sipapu Ski Area in Northern New Mexico 20 minutes from Taos. https://www.sipapunm.com/ One of the finest venues in the country for the sport of trials! Great terrain, nice friendly location. Perfect vacation for rider, wife and kids. Do not miss this event! August 13 and 14th. Top riders in all classes! Expect to get beat by the League. Our local Yamaha Team on TY 80`s. This is not Ahrma boys, we ride real trials! Come enjoy the fun! Classes for all years of bikes. Classes for all abilities of riders. We love to see the modern guys get beat! Always a pot luck dinner on Saturday night.
  10. Ahrma is not very progressive, and sees trials as a thorn in it`s side. That was why we started Mountain West Vintage Trials. This year Itsa recognized the TY80 class, because our ty 80 team could outride almost all the riders in the other classes. No one likes to get beat by a mini-bike.
  11. The single vent PWK does not vent properly on downs and ups in a row. Look at Copes picture. By the choke is a blanked out vent. Use a 3mm drill and carefully drill it out. You can feel when you have gone through. 8-12mm. Worldtrialchamp had posted this mod several years ago.
  12. Something like that would bring on heat exhaustion in no time. Overdressing, particularly in clothes that don't allow sweat to evaporate easily can bring a quick end to a full days trial. You want protection, get an old style mx chest protector that allows air flow.
  13. Do you still have the disc guard on with the spacers? If not the bolts shoulder can be too long.
  14. The stock clutch is not so good. You might try Dennis at Overland. Myself I ordered sprockets to try.

  16. Seems most have changed the gearing to 9 and 43.
  17. Fast forward to easier riding, get a 9 tooth counter shaft sprocket.

I quit working for the local Yamaha shop in 1990. I just cannot get the part numbers out of my head.

Any Yamaha shop should have them as they fit many models. 260-14142-40-00 is a 40 pilot in a Yamaha part #.
  20. What you really need is an air compressor and 1/2 in impact wrench. Along with a good socket set.
  21. Seems like I saw someone with a later model pro having the same issue.. The early years needed prying out from both sides at once.
  22. If you tighten the adjuster TOO much the fluid CANNOT return to the master cylinder.
  23. You won`t miss it, it`s just half a screw and a hassle anyway.

  25. We had an early `15 do it in our club. Not anymore that I can think of, but Ossa had a bad run of `14 factory coming out of the same place.
