  1. Yamaha`s don`t use shims. Washers maybe.

    Is This True?

Only Honda riders are that gullible!
  3. It looks like the top ten got shook up today. Bustos had it, then choked.
  4. That`s funny! A full size van rides better than most things on the interstate. Around town, that`s another animal. Halfway home from our trials last weekend, I lost my power steering (in my conversion van) on I-40 while doing 80 mph in a pretty good crosswind. That thing drove like a sinking boat all the way home!
  5. Cope has the right idea, chain too tight (Too loose). Chain tensioner, wheel bearings, something rubbing? Sprocket about to break the hub?
  6. Newbie reading. http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/topic/58349-peg-hanger-break/?hl=%2B4rt+%2Bframe
  7. From the Gas Gas forum. Total change for the trials side of things in North America. Jim and Dale are done as importers. GasGas Structure Changes In North America -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gas Gas Motos North America is excited to announce many new changes for the North American Continent in the months and years to come! Torrot Electric Europa (New parent company of GasGas) has created a new subsidiary in the United States named Torrot NA Inc. This new company will have two branches of operation while still working in some fields together as one. GGMNA will have a new head office in California to oversee Gas Gas enduro and trial sales while distribution of parts, garments and accessories will be merged into a new larger facility in Watertown, SD. These logistic changes alone will help give Gas Gas and its parent company an opportunity to brand the name, grow its dealership network along with helping the customer obtain parts for any of his or her Gas Gas fleet from one supported dealership! GGMNA is excited to be covering Canada as well, effective April 1st, 2016 for both trials and enduro! Unit distribution will come out of Toronto, Canada while PG &A support will come from the Watertown, SD for the immediate future. Rod Overstreet is our National Sales Manager for enduro/trials/Torrot products and will be covering Canada as well, until we are ready to hire a Canadian Sales Manager. New staff have been hired and new logistics software has been purchased to support the new warehouse which starts operations May 1st. Gas Gas USA (Current trials) will distribute the first container of trials due to contractual agreements. After the first container, Mr Malesek will continue to be involved with Gas Gas in a new role. I would like to personally thank Dale Malesek for his 20 plus years as trials distributor for the US market and look forward to working with him at the trials events as he continues to support Gas Gas and competes in the national competitions! Please, if you have the chance, meet him and thank him for all the years of work! Jim Snell as well has been a vital and key role to GasGas's success here in the US. His video's, knowledge, and mechanical expertise will be greatly missed and it will be very difficult to find someone to fill his role! The best of future wishes for Rising Sun Imports! Torrot realizes the potential in North America and its an exciting time for Gas Gas in North America! __________________ Mark Berg COO, Torrot NA Inc
  8. Good chance the main bearings are bad. Pull off the flywheel cover and grab the flywheel and check for play.

    Fun On Ty80S!

I won my first trials on a red JT1. I was in Carl Shipman`s book, Trials Just For Fun several times on that bike. My next bike was Shipman`s Cota 247.
  10. Cold start enrichment system lever position sometimes can be the problem if this bike is new to you. It has to sit just right or it is partially open.
  11. Sounds like it could be a choke circuit problem. Dell Orto?

    Fun On Ty80S!

Most of these guys ride modern bikes, but like to harass our vintage club. The kid on the `80 going vertical on the concrete wall actually won the event overall against the big boys bikes. But then again he has a little background. Quote`A little about yourself: I started riding mototrials and bike trials in 2008. I competed in the 2014 UCI Trials World Championships in Norway. In 2015 I was North American 20” Champion and 2015 Western High School Mototrials National Champion`. These guys always kidnap my kid for the weekend. (The tall one). But they always have a good time!

    Tyres

I`ve had a Dunlop GP on my gasser for six months no problems. Two weeks ago I put one on my sons Sherco with the morad rim. He rides hard and so far he loves it.
  14. One tooth is not much assuming that you are still running 428 chain. Tony I assume an 11t rubs? You may need to go up on the back too. Problem is the too tight of sections for the older bikes. I had the same problem last weekend on a 348 Cota.

    Evo 2T Gas

A properly jetted Rev 3 will not knock.
  16. You need to pull the flywheel to make sure you did not shear the flywheel key.
  17. They used the Scorpa for the `test the waters` to see if the new old Sherco would work. Sherco must realize they just made the same mistake that coca cola did with `new coke`.
  18. Most front wheel balancing is done with the forks partially compressed into something.
  19. And it`s an ugly color scheme.
  20. Mag. 500mg tablets, I take two plus a day. I wish I could get arm pump, there was a time I would about bleed to death from my grip. After a 100 mile desert race my pants would be covered in blood from my hands. I have not had arm pump in over 5 years, which is good. Having not enough grip can be scary too.
  21. If you get tired, you should ride more often.
  22. This video and lots of magnesium helped more than months of therapy. It takes almost a month, but my pain is 10% of what it was.Good luck.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d85QKyWvrbI
  23. Somebody`s cut it short. Just get a new spring. It feels great being so light, but when you hit things hard it makes it very hard to keep control. You tend to hit and then over shoot an obstacle.
  24. Every manufacturer has issues like this. Bikes that don`t shift, no gaskets, etc. When I worked at the local Yamaha shop I had a YZ80 transmission bearing lock up in sixth gear on the pavement. What a stop that was!
  25. They were probably out of bolts that day and the assembler had not been paid. Not much quality control when a co. is going under. At least the stator was ok!
