  1. The piston has to be at top dead center and you must first engage the kick start gears. Then a strong fast kick. You cannot start with just kicking it. You my lay the bike over till gas comes out the carb to prime it. I used to have my son start mine until I got it right. Riding trials 44 years and the kid has to start the bike.LOL
  2. From watching new riders while scoring, most points are taken from over use of the clutch. You have made a good point, throttle control is very important and is almost a lost art with todays bikes and riding styles. As Paulmac has stated, tight circles are the most basic practice. Good luck.
  3. The master cylinder is on the bars, I assume you are talking about the slave cylinder. Be very carful not to pop the slave`s piston out.
  4. Score also is decided by what rules you run. A high scoring trials with the all day dab is considerably harder than no stop. Either way good flowing sections usually bring out the most smiles no matter the class.
  5. You need a larger pilot jet for your running problems. The plastic melting was caused by the spark arrestor.
  6. Be prepared to get wet, real wet. P.S. if after your first ride they start knocking, you get to do it again.
  7. You actually did not need new plates, you just needed the correct finger height. 17mm.
  8. Pull the spring down off the top cap and you should see the nut you need to loosen.
  9. The easy solution would be the witness marks from the screws.
  10. Jim Snell has redone his clutch video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnLY1IrMvBM
  11. Are you sure it did not get flattened while working on the clutch?
  12. You could see if Kev has one of the original springs. (2002-05) It would be a slightly harder pull, but would eliminate slip.

  15. Didn`t you already ask this question? http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/topic/60232-1996-gg160-parts/#entry426355 http://www.trialspartsusa.com/aboutus.htmlIf Jim does not have it (the petcock)then you need to look at the UK.
  16. The Bike is A Sammy Miller special. That is not a Bultaco frame.
  17. Take all the pressure off the clutch master cylinder or just take the lever off. Then push it back in.
  18. First I do not think there is enough room for hex headed bolts! Order the correct bolts! The new ones are 7mm needing a 12 pt socket or wrench. Start with new bolts first and new gasket. The 02 and o3 clutch baskets came off hard because they used a bushing not bearings. Good luck.
  19. Fuel injected 3 stroke!
  20. I liked my `86 rear shock. By now it could use a refresh though.
  21. Hope you also got a new head.

  23. FMF makes a universal muffler/Spark arrestor. It should not be to hard to adapt. It would look like the Wes, cheaper and quieter too.
  24. If it`s soaked, the crankcase could be flooded. Leave the fuel off, pull the plug out and try to clean out the cylinder by kicking a dozen times. This can be dangerous, so hold the kill button while doing this. Worst case would be to remove exhaust to clean out also. A wet plug will not fire. So keep the plug fresh and clean.
