  1. Which one? To spread the cases? You should be able to with a little effort with out tools. Or small sheet of flat steel, attach simple puller, drill holes to match case.
  2. With the wiring harness for the lights removed it becomes quite a cluster. Chances are that old a bike was more right than wrong being the color does not match up!
  3. I finished a two day last weekend. I was having trouble with the tight sections.(My clutch cable had broke) After the first loop I started to check out the gearing. I was running 13 and 46. My riding buddy had 12 and 46, and had been doing quite better in the sections. We compared thoughts and agreed the 11t might even be the best choice. Both of us had 199`s and we compete on modern bikes in the same class. You can always ride a section in second gear, but with people setting sections for clutch work it is best to have the low gearing in the first place.
  4. The gas gas gears have to be carefully engaged since it is a crap design.

You are the first person I`ve heard of with one. I would think you would at least need a 10t counter. Glad you like it.
  6. Why does GAS GAS not change. Because people keep buying them!?!
  7. lineaway replied to suzuki250's topic in Gas Gas
I`ve had brand new gassers rusted in the crate before. Not a good start on a `new` bike.
  8. I just sold an `81 cota 200. I had the bike 15years. There was no sign the tank had been coated before me. Never had any fuel issues.
  9. Get the correct key , put it back together and see if it is all ok. You cannot run with out a key.(for long)
  10. So did you not start another post/topic/poll on this today? Deleted?

I hate it when the poster never replies back. Can`t say I blame him now!!

With the clutch height in spec, the pro clutch works well(not quite well enough to roll back a long ways)enough. Either the master cylinder is bleeding by or the O-rings could use replacing. Has the clutch cover been updated?

If the finger height is with in specs I would be looking at the m/c or the O-rings in the clutch case.
  17. Did you make sure the start jet circuit was clear? Seems like I had that issue long ago.
  18. The older gas gas boys had ignition problems. ( Not sure of the current models) So knowing this my boy got a Beta mini trial, Then went through two ty80`s, to a gas gas txt70 which was a great bike. The ty80 fills in the gap. Just needs geared down to where the clutch really does not matter.
  19. Loosen top fork clamps. Loosen fork tops. Slide dust seal up, remove seal clip. Remove bottom bolt from fork leg, drain. Pull bottom leg off, Seal comes out at the same time. Use the fork leg like a slide hammer. http://www.betamotor.com/system/attachments/0000/0749/REV3_inglese.pdf
  20. The gas gas has the bells and whistles, the Beta starts.
  21. Junior line. Ray attempted the section Saturday, but never got up the big ledge. I never knew he even rode sunday till I saw the results! Roper and Davis looked good on the first loop, then faded.
  22. Interesting pair in the open class, top `Pro` rider verses top `Expert rider. Cody cleaned my section (blue line) while Peters punched it!
  23. Talk to your dealer. If still not satisfied, notify the importer.

It is gutless if you are riding straight down a road! How many trials have you ridden?
