  1. Trials transmissions in general are usually not fragile, just the pro. It is a strange design found only in the pro. Mainly the shift to 3-4 and back down 4-3. But in general the whole thing is not a strong design. You need to search the forums and you will see pro tranny problems over and over. The bike works very well, but has always had the most repair issues. Everyone says the newer bikes are better. Just use the brakes more, and not hard shifts on the trail.
  2. Riding the pro like you would any trail bike. Will break the tranny in no time. If I shifted the pro like my old Yamaha that I desert raced, it would have several major problems. I have a friend that came to trials, having several KTM`s and a few street bikes. He has a 2010 pro that we replaced the whole tranny in 2011. It was just from down shifting what would be considered `normal` on most bikes!
  3. Third to fourth is always noticeable. The whine is some what normal. These transmissions are very weak. High speed trail riding has to be done carefully. Keep on eye on the oil for fragments. The needle bearings are prone to coming apart with hard use.

    Beta Tr35 Forks.

I think the techno forks should work. `94 and `95.

    Beta Tr35 Forks.

Chuck is that where Shay got his forks?
  6. Probably should rebuild (which is fairly cheap) the master cylinder.
  7. Chuck you missed out! I had two points in two days, but 17 in the ride off!!!

    First Gear

If you have an 11 tooth counter shaft sprocket, change it out for a 10 tooth. Some models are geared too fast!!

All right, I`ll bite. What`s this old guys trial on Friday. My son`s going. I`ve been offered a seat and a room. Now if I had the time!!!!!!
  10. Pretty simple if you ask me. All outdoors events no stop. All indoor events anything goes. Besides this is a motorized sport. If you want to hop all day for a workout, get a monty! Now how close you score this is another matter. The FIM video did no-stop no justice. That has always been the issue between scorers.
  11. The 20`s a handful. Is this his first bike?
  12. With all the broken pro`s out there, you would think you could find a parts bike cheap somewhere!
  13. I already know it is not Mandi`s old bike. I was referring to that model was pieced together with odd parts. Mandi`s old bike was recently changed to all red and they used TXT 50 parts to match it up. The TXT 50(TXT80) had a very similar frame as the pro.
  14. I rebuilt Mandi`s old 200 pro engine about a year and a half ago. Had to replace the shift drum as it broke into pieces. The old spark arrestor that Adrian had made was completely plugged up. I had an old txt muffler (brand new) that bolted right on with no clearance issues. So I would say the early 200 was a strange mixture of parts.
  15. Well you could always raise the footpegs a 1/2 inch or so.
  16. How about a picture of the damaged one!
  17. If it is the yamaha engined bike. The motor is an old design but very dependable. The Beta works great as well , but better parts availabilty. I would go with the Beta.
  18. Two things. Go out get the bike warm in 4 th gear and break the clutch in. Lots of revs and major clutch. Since you own a working master cylinder change it out. (from your bike) To clean out the milky oil you need to completely fill the cases with something. Do not run it that way. you cuold leave it overnight and then fill to the correct levels. Good Luck!

The pilot circuit is plugged. That usually is the problem of no idle. The pilot jet needs cleaned and/or blown out. Should not need any parts $$ if it comes apart good.
  20. It is a 7mm but has to be the 12pt.
  21. Sounds like you`ve been talking to BillyB!
  22. Riding a Beta in Itsa is like cheating! You have one that the frame is still straight? Had an `89 as my first Beta. My wife still hates me for that christmas. I put it under the tree to me from Santa! My kids loved it.
  23. Beta Techno`s also ran the Paoli`s from `96-`99. Straight out of the Paoli service manual. 360cc per leg, both 5wt. Tat is with a complete rebuild.(dry) Measurements were with the forks collapsed no spring. 125mm and 70mm.
  24. You have lumped all those forks together. They were not the same between brands and changed through the years! I`d go with Snells notes.
