Great post!!!! Thank you! Heard anything on the rear?
-
Turn the fuel off and stuff exhaust. Anything to do with the tires spinning or causing a fuel spill is just insane if you have ever see this happen. I`ve seen five grown men try to wrestle it down to instant fires to a broken leg by the rear tire!

To get neutral, go down to first. Then with your heel give a short quick kick up on the shifter. Never will find it with the toe.

Most years the ama rules made very little sense with club or the national rules. And yes if you stopped and balanced it was a 5. That is why we used to call balancing a wasted skill. Now what you might be actually reading was a quick slight pause as we did not call it, a fast five as people are the most worried about. But stopped with a foot down was a 5 no question. The bikes could run so slow without the clutch it was like driving an automatic, heavy flywheels and we ran with no idle set.

All you are going to find is a parts breakdown. You might get lucky and somebody on here will have the one page owners manual. It takes around 500cc trans. fluid. It should have a sight glass. Be careful on the radiator cap as the direction is marked wrong.
-
Glad you found a problem as you went back through the bike! Do not forget reply #13. The oring is needed but check that choke assembly.
-
The bike has been altered for a trail bike. The swingarm has been extended for increasing the wheelbase. I cannot tell from the pictures, but has the forks been raked out? Just recently seen one with the forks raked out to be a desert sled. The bikes been modified, but not to make it a better trials bike!
-
It can be hard to find. As it now has been smashed into the teeth and sounds just like a bad rod. ( To give the shop some credit it does sound like a bad rod bearing, but it`s not!!!!) You might even need a magnifying glass and go tooth by tooth to find it!

Never cared for the KT. Don Smith did come through town and did a demo. Afterwards a few of us local experts spent the afternoon just play riding with Don. Don was great never paid much attention to what the bike did, all rider!

If the standard is 33 120 for seal-level should i not really go down in numbers as there's less air?
All the bikes come lean from the factory.
-
p>What Brucey is saying you could have bad gas. Good thing to replace the fuel no matter how `new` it is. I have just seen the same symptoms on a Honda power washer at work. Needs half choke, idles poorly and makes lousy power! Worth a shot
-
Have you tried your friends silencer on your bike to see if that improved the problem?
-
Yes you can just `grab` the flywheel to check the mains. If nothing else it helps to eliminate problems. Best advice would be to try a `buddies` carb. We can talk for hours about what you have done to the carb, nothing like a good carb to swap. Which I know can be hard to come by. Did you remove the pilot jet and choke jet, clean and check both circuits were not blocked? The pilot actually flows out of two locations. Directly under the slide and a small hole in front of the slide. Keep trying they are a nice bike when running properly.

Recommend type: ATF DEXRON III Alternatives: NOTE: Gas Gas Spain recommends only Dexron III automatic transmission oil at this time. Oil type warning: DO NOT USE #12378508 GM auto-trac II (blue) oil Never use synthetic oil in the transmission~clutch. The synthetic oils are “stickier” and this adhesion tendency, when applied to the areas between the clutch plates contribute to excessive clutch drag. Some brands of synthetic oil will chemically react when mixed with water, (from creeks, rain, or waterpump seal leakage). This reaction alters the pH factor of the oil. This acidic condition accelerates corrosion of steel engine parts, and loosens the bond of the clutch fiber plate material. Please do not second-guess this information. We have twelve years of experience with the Herbringer/Adige brand clutch plate materials, and we are in direct contact with the technical department at Gas Gas Spain. This info put out by the same people that recomended Mobile One for years and the Blue GM Auto Trac for the Pro`s.
Jon is right to use the clutch when shifting. By the way the Raga also uses an aluminum shift drum.

So did you buy the bike this way? Or what changed when this happend. It sounds like a carb issue. Did you check for main bearing play when you had the cover off. Air leaks other than mains and seals are uncommon and an oil leak should have nothing to do with it.
-
By the way Dougie was 6`2 and you never saw any disadvantage for him on the 315.
-
So good spark, you got fuel and you put a brand new plug in since you have been home? Have you had the bike long and did it always run well before. Besides plugs ty`s are dead reliable.
-
Best advice would be to bend your knees more. Not for comfort, but it would make for a better riding position. Ride almost any vintage bike from 75-85 and you will see how much room you already have! To answer your question just the bars would be the choice. Risers feel very strange.
-
Have you pulled the fuel line off the carb to make sure gas is flowing. Is the plug wet or dry? If it is dry it is not getting fuel.

People are jumping to extreme enduros for one reason. That sport is growing and that is where factories are spending the profits chasing the golden egg. Trials riders are jumping because they already have the skills and are chasing the money. There never has been much money in trials. If they had not been trials riders, they would suck at this sport.
Imagine if endurocross was stopped every time a rider was stuck to make it a fair race. The sport would be a laughing joke!
On another note we had a club meeting the other night. There was a complaint the younger riders don`t pay much attention while scoring. We do not have a section time limit. So yes it is very boring to watch a rider spend five minutes tying to get a 3, in a section that should take less than 20 seconds to ride! I have a hard time watching this endless struggle of non-riding myself.
-
We had one in our club. Saw it crash right in front of me in late `72. Put a tree branch through the gas tank. That was the last time I ever saw one.
-
The picture of the Ossa is great. You guys are gettin` old, all I see are tan lines in just the right places! Did someone mention a ty?
-
Now that`s poetry for the cause! You mind if we use it?
-
Glenn, the minders came along about the same time as the trucks and large motor homes. Now a days you have to have a parking lot as large as two or three football fields! Then you worry about finding sections! Kind of a catch 22. We are running out of land to use, but insist on making the events such a large promotion that limits the site locations. Years ago we could hold a national about anywhere. Now you have to accomodate 40 large rv`s plus the Teams for the pit.
This years world rounds will be interesting to see if they can bring the magic back to the sections. I always laugh at the riders complain when there is no setup to an obstacle, They always call it old style if you don`t leave a place for the hoppers to get the bike just right befoer the next obstacle. More to trials than hop splatter and hop some more!

If KW would of kept his momentum , at the very least Big A could of caught him!
