  1. Hi Sports lawyer Did you get anywhere after your post on the 300RR PTB thread we had going a while back Thanks for the update. I've continued searching for information on an Optional Tuning Kit for the 2016/2017 300RR (or RTL300R) and 4RT260 bikes. But haven't found anything yet that's specific to the 300RR. Have seen some suggestions that the 2016 / 2017 4RT260 3ED/4ED TB/ECU (16400-NN4-L31) is also programmable, but no "I've done it and used this" reports. Have found that Honda has unified the cable set (38880-N1C-770 UNIT ASSY, SERIAL-USB I/F), and it's used for every other programmable FI bike since MY 2012 that I've found information on -- CBR250R, NSF250R, MSX125, CBR1000RR, CRF450R, CRF250R, and probably more. I suspect this supersedes the 38880-NN4-H00 cable set (first came out for the 2010 Japanese RTL260F), which superseded the 38880-NN4-306 cable set. I have the 38880-NN4-H00 set (use it with the 2010 RTL260F software 38771-NN4-H00) and it appears to be the same as the newer 38880-N1C-770 down to all the connectors and lettering on the switch box. I'll update with any new information I find. And hopefully Honda will get around to publishing something about the kit.
  2. As an engineering project it’s interesting but I think you could buy a 301rr for less than what you are going to spend on a base 300rr plus bits looking at the works 300’s in 2018 they had an s3 barrel on I think
  3. Fair play to Brian Higgins and the ACU for such a bold step -don't think anybody can level the fuddy duddy old timers not listening tag any more. It will be an interesting championship and bound to be a few snags but with Brian visiting every organiser and event prior to the date of the trial as he did this year should hopefully get consistency on severity and section length sortied to suit the new rules. Riders will need to re-learn the skill of managing their time in a sectiion and not mess about on the first hazard and then run out of time and complain the section is too long ??
  4. Throttle cable slack - check not opening butterfly by being too tight. is your tick over correct - you said yes to a load of things earlier so not sure
  5. Always stop it with the kill button/ lamyard. don’t stall it to stop it ?
  6. I’ve heard £8k but not sure if official price released
  7. I find with a mont wheel, X light and Tyre soap they pop on without a beader - even when new. But I have been doing it a fair while and probably got the knack. A beader is a 100% option Always take the valve out to inflate
  8. If you have your own compressor then swap tyres to suit your next event or practice session. keep old tyre for practice and good tyre for championships etc. Takes 5 mins to swap once you get the hang of it and saves pounds in the long run
  9. Trouble is you want all 3 things to be independent - front brake , back brake and clutch
  10. I don’t think you ride in slippery or muddy sections
  11. don’t 2 strokes use the 2 stroke oil for main bearing lubrication /- gas gas may be different ? flywheel side has no oil so must be 2 stroke oil? - clutch side could be either I guess depending where main deal goes . Do betas have a diaphragm clutch or multi plates
  12. No but more than capable of high pressure loading as on the spur gear
  13. An automatic gearbox is very close to a trials gear box and clutch. Designed for good clutch operation and planetary gears
  14. That's like having detention during lesson time - not that I would know ? and its probably not allowed anymore ⛔
  15. You have to mod the pump bracket for any flat tank mod - just gut and bend the bracket and tack back together
  16. Montesa/Honda historically don't change model name just for sticker change so maybe something new internally? Maybe closer to the RG bikes like Toby Martin and Billy Green have used and other GP2 riders. Rear disc looks FIM style if nothing else. There was a video on the internet a few months back (before Japan WTC maybe) of Bou riding a non repsol model in Japan so maybe testing the 301 engine
  17. That's all Honda make - no dirty 2 stokes or cows ???
  18. Above is all very true and some bits are 315R bits so even longer then 15 yrs (First 315 was 97!!) Maybe it would be nice to see something radical but would that be at the possible expense of the legendary durability. I guess Hondas ethos is that they treat every bike they make the same with a full road legal kit, workshop manuals etc etc. With Bou winning on a very special "std" bike and the rest of the range selling in reasonable volumes plus the 4ride as you say the economics in reality say they are doing the correct thing.(head ruling heart unlike maybe some of the other manufactures that are struggling) Maybe HRC could do what the car giants do with the likes of AMG/Brabus/BMW M models. Arbarth etc and produce a limited Full factory (nearly) bike but would probably be £15K. In realty the 300RR performance wise is very good - only drawback against the 2ts is the weight but to reduce that either adds bucks or reduces reliability - Maybe a 4 speed, single plate clutch, reverse cylinder, carbon exhaust and new decals
  19. ACU handbook has technical info if that’s what you’re after
  20. I confirm that the machine(s) as described below which I shall participate on shall be suitable and proper for the purpose. I confirm that I am eligible to compete on the machines for which I have entered. From entry form declaration that we all read? and sign at each trial. Basically onus is on you for the machine to be safe - the club may check that it complies with the trials regs -ie not on knobblies etc but from a safety point of view its a self certification. If there is something glaringly obviously dangerous then the C of C can exclude you/ask you to stop riding etc
  21. All my 4rt’s haven given a whiff of black smoke when reved hard - especially when in the garage and messing with them . Think it’s just fuel as said above. Get into habit of fresh air filter every ride ( cleaned and oiled)
  22. When it comes to claims and litigation it seem very that the defendant is guilty unless they can prove 110% that they have crossed the "I"s a dotted the "T"s in triplicate etc. Presuming common sense is no deference. Hence all the work the ACU do behind the scene with licensing of coaches, clerk of the course, risk assessment etc etc.. If you do run an ACU practice event though -presume that you follow the guidelines required then the land owner/officials etc are well protected.
  23. The latest 300rr are an alloy stand but £100 plus 4rt and 315 are the same and come up second hand frequently
