Pinky Twinshock Conversion
Can be done, guy called Tim Wheeler down in Bristol area has converted one, looks very thin on the rear subframe where the top shock mounts go. However, bit against the spirit of the whole twinshock thing. You will find that in the ACU's eyes, the twinshock class is open to "motorcycles originally fitted with twin shock absorbers". Therefore, why not go the whole hog and get a Scorpa/Rev 3/Sherco/Gasgas etc and convert that.....or sell your Pinky and stick the money towards a Majesty.......or get ultra competetive and buy an SWM Martin

Trials Riders Switching To Enduro
I did 4 years of Enduros when I was in my mid 20's, bloody good fun but a couple of drawbacks. First the cost, expensive to enter, and hideously expensive to run the bike, loads of travelling involved too. The other main reason for switching back to trials, was after 4 seasons, I knew the guys I travelled in the van with, but never really got to talk to anyone else !!! Would recommend that everyone has a go at them......they always say a fast trials rider will be good at Enduros......looking at the top guys in the UK seems to back that up. Martin

Jcm Piston
Could be wrong on this................but I thought that the early air cooled Gas Gas used the same motor as the JCM.......a call to John Shirt might give you a definite answer. Hope this helps. Martin

Bultaco Trike !
Getting bored of your 340????.........well why not try this 1980's French trike conversion kit Uses different triple clamp's and a swingarm with rear axle set up that can be swapped onto the bike with no other alterations. I have seen a photo of the kit on a Gori trialer and within the last few weeks have been contacted buy a guy in Germany who has just converted a SWM trike back to solo. He is interested in selling the trike kit, if anyone fancys a challenge drop me a pm. Martin

Swm's
On the SWM vs Fantic debate....would think that if Fantic was the Ferrari of its time, SWM would have been Lamborghini I have owned/ridden 240 & 300 Fantics (& even comnbinations of the two Lee!) and they are excellent bikes.....however I switched to SWM. Why?......several reasons, the handling of the SWM is better than the Fantic, in muddy conditions they grip like nothing else and from a maintainence angle they are much cheaper/easier to keep running (points/condenser ignition and steel cylinder liners). Granted the Fantic motors are much lighter and very zippy, but get it in the mud and its a bit of a handful! Martin

Halfords Fork Oil Query
Would go with boofont on this......cant imagine Halfords would have there own fork oil. Didn't someone on trialscentral a while ago say that a lot of oil companys use the same product, and the only difference is the package ?

06 Scorpa Carb Woes.....
Not wishing to be picky here, but theroetically 100:1 will make a bike run rich not lean!!!! Reason being that........ lean or rich mixture refers to the air/fuel mixture not petrol/oil ratio. A high petrol to oil ratio (eg 100:1) flows through the carb quicker than a more viscous (say 50:1) mixture. Therefore the bike is getting more fuel than air so runs rich. What the oil does is lubricate the top end, and to answer the post, I would think the motor is running way too hot. Stick some more oil in the mix before it wrecks the top end. Lesson over Martin

325 Or 340?
On the subject of modified 340's, anyone know anything about these? Seem to be a few around in Spain, known as Bultaco "Puma" ????? Martin

325 Or 340?
But how can you tell its a copy ???? What bits are making you think its a home brewed job rather than a "genuine" Reg May ???? To me,........ altering the swinging arm plates, swing arm shock mounts, top shock mounts & frame area, airbox, seat, side panels, and front pipe.....seem a bit more than the average bloke would take on.
-
325 Or 340?
Just out of interest...........why do you think its a copy? Heres a pic of a standard 340, so we can all play "spot the difference"!! Martin

Lance Armstrong?
Sorry guys but this is getting a bit like a stuck record......"when will we have another American World Trials Champion?" Simple answer.......until you have a rider that actually competes in the WTC.....never. You haven't had a regular World Round contender since Bernie packed in 20 years ago, he only became champion because he upped sticks and moved to Europe to ride in the series. I have said this before......making trials more difficult/proffessional/bigger in the US isn't the answer.....send your good riders over here and let them ride against the worlds best, its the only way for them to make it. Getting back to the original post.....Lance Armstrong, brilliant cyclist, Tour de France hero.....never would have won that if he stayed in America ! Martin
