  2. Bernie in the "One Trick Pony" video was a Italjet promo for the first green model. Remember watching it about 10 times at the Bristol Dirt Bike Show, and I think they also advertised copies of it in TMX. Keep an eye on my website Singe, I will be downloading a video of the 83 Kickstart final with Schreiber, Michaud & Cordonnier on the Jumbos.....just as soon as I can get it over to r2w to do the technical stuff Martin
  3. Go on dude, show em the SWM......reckon its one of the nicest one's around Martin
  4. Out of interest.....what is the AMCA slant on this subject? The converted mono seen down here in the south west, only seems to get used in AMCA events. Martin
  5. Hi Alan I am secretly hoping that Stuart will get bored of trials and take up fishing or something.......allowing me to purchase one of those Bernie bikes. Could always find you a nice SWM when you get bored of Fantics Regards Martin

  8. Thought Grey imports were brought into the country in the backs of vans and sold at prices that undercut that of a new UK supplied bike! As you cant buy a new TLR anymore and you wouldn't want to drive all the way back from Japan with one...its an import. I thought think some of the Jap import bikes are sensibly priced considering the cost of bringing them over to the UK, some also appeared less rusty and clapped out than similar aged bike here. Having said that, TLR's were never my favourite bike and give me a yellow Italian bike any day of the week Martin
  9. Quite right Charlie......how did you know that? It was owned at one time by Mike Clark who worked for Wyverns Motorcycles in Weston super Mare and was an expert rider in the Wessex Centre until the mid 70's when he packed in....to breed Budgies!!!! There you go then Martin

  11. By the look of those photo's, I reckon that Mick must have spent about half an hour on that project....then realised there was no way he could fit a tank !
  12. A couple of ideas that work down in this area. Similar to Scorpa 3's idea....on the entry form offer riders a free entry if you bring an observer with you, around here there are a bunch of regular observers that turn up, so you are usually looking for an extra 2 or 3. Secondly, enter all observers into a raffle with half a dozen prizes, with the draw to take place after the event.....usually the only times during the year when my father hassles me to ride because he wants to observe !!! Martin
  13. Not any more.....just had these manufactured from vacuum formed plastic, send me a p.m. if you are interested. Martin
  14. Hey Singe....didn't realise you knew I had purchased that little gem from evilBay. Oddly enough, I had nearly followed your suggested restoration method to the letter and 2 weeks later....the result ! Easy when you know how! Martin

  18. Hi Singe I have always been a firm beliver in trimming a bit off the end of the bars, stops you smacking your knuckles on trees........but unlike you South Eastern guys, down here we tend not to take it all off one side! Bet that must have hurt, should have ridden an SWM, far better build quality. Regards Martin
  19. Get hold of a copy of Don Smiths "Ride-It Trials" book, plenty of pictures of his works KT250's in there. usually a few copy's around on ebay. Which works rider had your bike? and would be interesting if you could post some photo's. Regards Martin
  20. Hi Biff Speedway bikes use a 19" trials type block pattern rear tyre....try this link to Cody Racing in California who should be able to help. Cody Racing Good luck with the Anglian. Martin
  21. You dont need two routes...just scrap the over 40/50 modern bike class. The last classic round I rode in was at Torridge. I had riden the event half a dozen times before and it has always been well supported and a tough, but rideable event. I reckon that on my previous attempts at the trial where only twinshocks/pre 65s were catered for, I dropped around 40-50 marks and usually ended up around the middle of the pack. Missed riding the event for a few years, then tried again the year before last. Same faces as before entered, similar number of riders....but hold on where have all the old bikes gone, everyones out on their modern bikes....I ride my heart out on the SWM, drop 120 marks and get in the points!! I considered riding the trial again this year....first thought though was take the Beta and save myself a load of grief. However, if you run the trial for twinshocks and pre65's only, I'm certain the entry level would not drop too much, they would just drag out their old bikes....which in essence was the successful formula that worked fine a few years ago. Leave it as it is at the moment, and my prediction is that there will be Classic rounds in a couple of years time with no twinshocks!
  22. Hmmm....why would someone bid
