SWM Modifications
@feetupfun , I agree, and I have a brembo disc and m/c on another bike and they are no better than a good condition standard setup with modern brake shoes.

new rider help
What condition is your front tyre ? What make is it, 5psi in a decent quality tyre should be about right.

new rider help
Are you using the clutch ? Maybe drag the back brake a little. Handlebars a little further forward to put more weight onto front tyre.

Pegs moved and new brake pedal
Oxy-acetylene is great for repairing exhausts and encouraging things to bend ........

Pegs moved and new brake pedal
I used a stick welder without any issues.

Is that a how not to video ?

Clean the carb before looking else where. If your not sure how, check the make and go onto YouTube, lots of good info there. Take your time when stripping the carb and take pictures if your not sure.

Newbie question about the TY's
Look for Gerry Minshall, he and his wife are heavily involved in the Kia classic trials series so Google him through that. Gerry is a really good guy, and manufacturers many parts for twin shock and pre 65.
-
Stop allowed for 2020
Get yourself a pre65 / twin shock, join a no stop club, have fun.

Stop allowed for 2020
I've just looked at tsr22a, and I'm no clearer which of you is correct !

Best sump guard plate - better protection for my new bike.
So there's not a single mark on your sump guard ?
-
Stop allowed for 2020
"Going backwards while footing is a five" still going to be a split / millisecond decision where the better riders get the benefit of the doubt. How do you score rocking on the sump guard and using the boot toes to regain forward motion ? Is stopped with a food down a 1 or a 5 ?

Pre Mix Fuel - Does Age Matter?
Why wouldn't anyone just drain tank and carb for long term storage ?
-
evo 2010 clutch bleeding problem
Is modern brake / clutch fluid not hygroscopic ?
-
Before and After
Your exhaust shouldn't get that hot so quickly, the fact if does suggests the carburation is very lean, or timing is way out, or a combination. What does the plug look like ?

Alternative to observed trials?
Get yourself down to Edmundsbyres on Sunday, classic trial in the Kia series, two routes to choose. Might just change your opinion. @breagh @breagh you coming over to riding "easy" trials ? Must be an age thing.

Before and After
Think Jcarteradams has discovered size does matter ?

trials riding in central scotland
http://www.scrmc.co.uk/trials.html Also run entry level trials.

Throttle stuck and now not firing up!
Sounds like it ran out of fuel ? As you have learned, never leave them unattended. Check timing again.

To stop not or not to stop.
Agreed, it also quickly becomes obvious when people do "well" in self observed trials, but nowhere near as good when an independent observer is marking.
-
To stop not or not to stop.
Not my experience over many years, the odd tw#t of course, but generally a really good bunch of people. Competition generally improves your standard or riding.

Crank bearing replacement
But he's just paid 200 to have them replaced, surely a half decent mechanic would have checked for excessive lift on the crankshaft and advised him accordingly ? A build up of crap in the exhaust is possibly/hopefully the problem.
-
Crank bearing replacement
Can someone explain why slightly noisy mains would make it smoke excessively, especially if crank seals have just been replaced ?
