pschrauber is an extremely knowledgeable and helpful guy who has gone out of his way to help fellow trials enthusiasts, why not just give a bit of credit where due ?
  2. If your riding it like a trials bike, fine. If top gear flat out, no.

What colour is the plug ?
  4. What ratio are you trying to achieve ? 50:1 is 100ml to 5 litres petrol

Steel toe capped wellies were waterproof (apart from the copious amount over the huge top) but gave almost zero protection, on balance modern boots with goretex liners and or sealskins every time.
  6. What language is she speaking ?
  7. b40rt replied to dozerash's topic in SWM
    Silly comment.

Agreed, but some of the old "stalwarts" couldn't even get on the reserve list. All academic now for this year, though if entries carry forward to next year, the ones who missed the cut will be doubly fcuked !

Good call for pre65, look at the average age ......

Not sure there are any benefits in doing this, in fact probably worse than a well set up original motor. Tx and txr are worth swapping, but no major improvement.
  13. Never thought presenting the sweaty punch card (stored down the front of your shirt) was particularly pleasant, even before c v . Maybe an added bonus is observers will feel free to "award" ALL riders their correct marks.
  14. Hola Hamish ?
  15. Not necessarily, if it doesn't get up to temperature, of have a bit of a blast occasionally, most 2 strokes will build a bit of oil in the exhaust.

No, but there should be a rubber pad.
  17. Have you compared the old and new side by side ?
  18. I dream of $3 screwdrivers, and capital letters.
  19. Plugs don't like over rich mixture, new plug would be my first move.

When you have the technique it transfers, learning the tricks on a triumph twin might be challenging ...
  21. Not in my experience. No need to coat.
  22. https://www.google.com/search?q=spark+plug+colour+chart&oq=spark+plug+colour&aqs=chrome.1.69i57j0l15.19521j0j4&sourceid=silk&ie=UTF-8#imgrc=gTNHqHWopVgXaM:
  23. Sorry, can't agree with you there. The choke circuit etc is fitted for a purpose, starting (from cold) ! If you don't have to use it there is a problem with your carb.
  24. As above, try starting without the choke, if it will start, you have a carb problem.

The 1980 Marzocchi's (imo) were not the best, check the betors are the same length, they are reckoned to be better. Whether you use the betor yokes probably depends on your height. If your taller than 6ft, I'd go for the Marzocchi's.
