If you are very careful you can shorten the outer cable, which effectively give some slack for the inner.

Definitely go electronic ignition as you will possibly end up replacing most of it anyway.

Much easier to use than goggles, but not as good. If your on a track with rocks getting chucked at you you will be thankful.

Yes, boots always leak, as do sealskins. But you generally end up with warm wet feet .....

Lower leg minor injuries are fairly common, good boots plus shin / knee protection are advisable.

Not 100% accurate, unless you buy something really obscure, parts are easily found. Many of the twin shocks are as reliable, possibility moreso, than some modern bikes.
Look through the current topics, virtually all modern "reliable " bikes 😎

Ossy Byres has a machine shop and manufacturers parts for pre65/twin shocks. Might be worth contacting Audit CNC.

Assuming it's 520 chain ? Regina chain links can be reused , when you split the chain the half link can be attached meaning you only have one link.
Chain is out of stock, give them a phone.
