Bear in mind some / all this corrosion may be due to your engine acting as a sacrificial anode, so it is equally important to make sure the frame is rust free and painted.

I'm assuming you don't bother with boots, helmet, gloves, ball ends on levers, folding footrest etc 😆

Particularly in the first few months / years, you will find yourself in some very strange / unnatural positions, I would wear them .

If I only entered events I thought I could win, they would be very few and far between. Personally, I wouldn't handicap by age (as it has no relationship to ability) more by results. Maybe previous years first second and third are handicapped 3 for winning, 2 for second and 1 for third.
