If you ditch the original tailpipe & fit a WES or similar style alloy one, you will see even more performance gain.

Evo Front Mudguard On Rev3
The evo front mudguard is rubbish, it's brittle and its too short. A lot of evo's seem to be sporting gas gas front mudguards I've noticed.

Bought A Brand New Evo - Any Tips'n'trix?
Remove & copperslip any bolts you want to undo later. Do NOT add a front mudguard flap to your bike, it will break the mudguard and/or radiator cover. The front mudguard is short because the tyre hits the exhaust header pipe, & the mudguard would just snap straight off. Seal the gap under the rear mudguard between the exhaust & airbox with sikaflex. The gear lever doesn't tighten up properly on the shaft, file a larger slot in the lever. Take extra care when replacing the mudguard & tank cover screws, they will strip very very easily as they screw straight into the alloy frame. Grease the head bearings & suspension linkage. Keep a close eye on the carb overflow for fuel pouring out, adjust float level & tang if required. Remove the little centre screw from the sidestand spring, stops the stand self retracting when you park slightly downhill. Squirt chainlube into the rear spoke nipples to stop them siezing up. A lot of the bolts & fixings on the bike are very poor quality & corrode very quickly, keep an eye on these & replace as they get worn or corroded. I have needed to check the tightness of bolts more frequently than other makes, bit of threadlock on things like the kickstart will help. Hope this helps!

Comments On 2011/12/13 Models?
The fixings & bolts seem to be very cheap quality on the '13 bike, alot of the heads seem to be corroding after only a few rides. I have removed & greased all the bolts when it was brand new before i rode the bike, but some of the allen bolt heads are really quite soft. I'm starting to go through them now with better quality items. Yes the front wheel hits the pipe on mine and my mates '13 bike also.

Might Be A Stupid Question...?
you need to consider the other things you wil need at the event itself, fuel, tools, spares, food/drink. Also if you're bike breaks down you are stranded. As above, there will always be someone with a van with space once you get started & ask around.

2013 Trials Bikes
I have a 2013 evo 250, and its a very nice bike to ride, smooth tractable power with good low end for feeling for grip. The bike has a couple of issues though. The front tyre hits the exhaust header when braking downhill. The carb overflows fuel out, even from brand new. Some of the plastics stickers are peeling off even before i'd ridden the thing, carefull while you wash it!! The front mudguard is brittle as it has no alloy brace to support it. Overall i'm very happy with the bike, no machine is perfect but some of these issues are surprising.

New Beta Evo's

Bike Work Stands
As above, those scissor stands are brilliant, but you still need a lightweight low stand for washing the bike and taking to trials if you need to fix a puncture etc.
