2008 Scott Trial- Takahisa Fujinami 4th (Winner Ian Austermuhle) 2010 Scottish 6 Day- Albert Cabestany 9th (Winner Alex Wigg) Proof (If needed) that current world trials are going in the wrong direction. OK Dougie would have won this years Scottish but you get my point. The above results are far more interesting than the current world trial results, and I bet the events are too. How about this for a world trial "Template" - 50 Sections - 50 Miles - 1 Lap - 4 Petrol Stops - 10 Miles / 10 Sections Between Stops - 5 Time Check's (4 Petrol Stops and the End) - No Minders - No Intercoms - No Outside Assistance, major parts of the bike marked OK I know Adam &amp…

Check out the time frame between 1 minute 1 second and 1 minute 4 seconds. Watch closely as the minder clearly grabs Bou's front forks and then Bou dabs and the minder quickly pulls away. Then try to watch the observer score the thing. Watch as his hand is closed, then slowly opens to what looks like a five, then quickly just holds up one finger. What do you think Bou actually score on his card? You make the call.

Last year the FIM came up with the phrase " Dynamic Trials" well at last there has been some success. I just watched the Portugese round on Eurosport and I have never seen trials riders move so fast !!

I get wound up when people make rash statements about events they weren't at so I am going to do the same. Over the past few weeks we have had all and sundry playing hell about hard events but sureley the Portugese event has shown that it is a bigger farce when things are too easy. Jack Challoner 7 points, 8th place sorry its just not on. I will wait to be shot down in flames

  8. I'm talking about taking the title from him, not just beating him at one round (Cabby did that indoor, this year, actually.) As riders get away from 22/23 years old (Bou's age, not surprisingly) they generally get a bit worse each year, slowly of course. So not Cabby, not Raga, not Fuji, not Dougie, as they are older than Bou. Fajardo is roughly the same age as Bou, so he's got a shot, but he finished 7th today, so I'm not too confident. James Dabill is maybe only a tad younger than Bou, but as great as he is he would have to make an unrealistically large improvement? Wigg is younger, and phenomenal, but has too much ground to make up. I see at least a record EIGHT w…

As detailed here Time limit cut to one minute per section (from 1.5 minutes) No walking the sections on the day Top riders no longer last to ride. Bou will be first man away in Spain I have my own thoughts on these, but what do others think?

Well that's that sorted then! Glad at least I now know and won't be going to the airport and hanging around on the offchance I might fly. I now have two days booked off work and nothing to do Well actually I have plenty to do and a lot of it TC related. Be a shame to miss the opening round to see how much controversy there is with the new rules, but it's the riders stranded trying to get out there I feel sorry for. For me it's just a hobby. For them it's their bread and butter

Reading about the first round of the Spanish openfree http://66.196.80.202/babelfish/translate_u...rcototal.htm%3f The video makes the sections look a bit easy, don't know if they were or not but the results look about right for the top riders. Is it the answer to getting more rider participation at top level ? Will more countries follow suit ?

During the three years that we had a world round event at Hawkstone, Trials Central ran the very successful "Party In The Park" get-togethers. This was a chance for TC users to get together informally, have a few beers and put names to faces. With the world round in Fort William approaching, planning has started on what we're going to do this year. Firstly, there will be NO camping available at the Nevis Range Ski Area so that rules out doing what we did at Hawkstone. Finding another venue where it's possible to set up a secure area with marquee, camping, toilets etc where we're not going to bother anybody with noise is way too much hassle and likely to be very difficul…

In november/december the Indoor calendar was much bigger. Now there are only five rounds. There where some rounds with only a date and no location. These rounds are canceled? It is a pity there are only five rounds. Some years ago there where more rounds, some years with 10 rounds.
