Just to let you all know that the TC 'Classified Ads' system really does work I sold my Beta to a bloke about a month ago after he saw it on TC. I then advertised my mates GasGas and that sold the other night too It's free, it only takes a few minutes to do and it's less hassle than eBay or TMX type newspaper advertising... Increase your chances of a sale by including photos, the price (very important) and a full description of the bike - Good Luck

  4. I am doing some research for a project about Trials Bike safety features and would appreciate anyone who would answer the questions below Thanks Durability and Safety of Trials Bikes How often do you damage or need to undergo repairs to the bike? (Give examples) How easy are these repairs to fix? Do you ever hurt yourself when riding a trials bike? (Give examples) What, if anything, do you think could be done to improve the riders safety? Trials bikes have many safety features, do you think they go far enough to protect the rider?

This thread in the Montesa forum got me thinking (well, I didn't have anything else to do): Works teams employ top-class riders to show how good the product is, and then the average (or not-even-average) clubman will be encouraged to buy the same. But is that a flawed logic? It may be that the best bike for a Bou or a Dabill is not the best bike for you or I. And perhaps a bike that they would consider uncompetitive would turn out to be the best for those of us with less exalted abilities. Or perhaps I'm talking rubbish again.

With the Sheffield shootout up for grabs, who do you think should get a shot at it. Michael Brown must be in with a shout, and also young Wiggy. Steve Brown has said that Michael would be well up for it. What are your views on it.

Just how good are the participants of these Forums when it comes to actually riding in section not in practice? If you believe some of the posts about super dooper read valves, after market shocks or weight saving add ons that people swear by, i'd believe most of the readers here would tick boxes 2 to 6..... In west aus out of the 60 or so riders i'd say 90% would only tick the top box!!! so be honest what techniques do you use in a section????????????

  11. Ok looked around couldn't find anything, so here goes. Coming from a dirtbike background where proper suspension setup is key, sag, static sag, preload oil weight etc, and now in the trials world I'm being told that spring rate not important unless you are a top level rider. Im curious is this true ? I have a stock suspension 2015 Beta 300 4T and weigh 200lbs and was thinking of getting the stiffer spring rates, will this help with an Intermediate rider ? I did notice in the owners manual heaviest weight for the stock suspension was something like 178lbs.

would like some advice on wheather to by a Montesa 315r or a 290 sherco i have max 2000 to spend i am upgrading from 96 gasgas jtr 270. will be using it for kentish trials (i.e mud and logs) novice/inter and lots of practicing / jumping and larking around would like a lighter more modern bike i love the fact that the Montesa has a honda engine (i had a crm 250 and was over the moon with engine). have ridden the sherco and liked the light feel and buckets of power (if a little too much) am worried about reliability especially if im buying second hand, if previous owner hasnt change oil/filters etc. not too keen on doing shed loads of maintenance every week and wan…

This may seem a daft question…. Planning on going to a trial for the first time tomorrow at Oxford Ixion just to check it out and learn before taking the newly purchased bike. But I have no idea how long it’s likely to go on for! Starts at 10.30, are they usually an all day thing or a lunchtime finish thing? And do you take food and drink or is there usually a burger van or something? Sorry if this seems an odd question but I can’t find out any info and the Wife wants to know roughly what time I’ll be back! And as shown, I really haven’t got a clue what to expect! 😆

  15. I took my GG Pro engine out for service and it weighed 40lbs (18.143kg). Does anybody know the dry weights of Sherco, Beta, Scorpa, Montesa engines?

Had road bikes before about 7-8 years ago supermoto etc never done trials before. Got in touch with my local club Essex and suffolk borders and going to see a trial end of the month. What's the best bike for a 6ft 3in 100kg rider? What's the best/most reliable bike to look out for? Don't want to spend thousands well not just yet! Maybe

Hi folks, What is the plastic fin directly in front of the rear sprocket for? And is it really necessary? I see some bikes with it and some without it. I don't think any twin shockers have them, do they? I have recently broken mine on rocks and haven't found or made a replacement yet. It is fairly flexible plastic and when it broke the sprocket and chain must have taken the impact with out any really visible damage. Am I risking damaging something if I choose to run without it? Or is it a requirement for modern trials? Any knowledge appreciated...

Hi, I after some help with what knee protection to buy. I'm currently laid up with a fractured knee cap and a full leg cast for 5 weeks after a small off in a river section and need to prevent this happening again. I'm new to trials after years of riding green lanes and enduros and bought a Suzuki Beamish last year to ride in the local twinshock series which was going quite well until this happened. I was thinking of buying mountain bike pads to go under my enduro pants but wondered if anyone have any experience of what to buy. I have seen theses http://www.highonbikes.com/poc-sports-joint-vpd-2-0-knee-protectors-mountain-bike-body-armour.htmlwhich ar…
