I may be behind the times here but I have just read that SM Products are to remake a limited number of the Hi boy frame for the TL125. What with all the bickering going on re the re launch of other frames and chassis etc etc how many I wonder will be built using 125 motors. Also there are going to be some "modifications" to the new frames. There are bound to be TLR200 motors used and many other components that were not around back in the day so where will these fit in I wonder. Personally it doesn't bother me what folk use I really don't give a monkeys, just good to see folks out there riding and having a good day, but there are those that will throw their teddies out of t…

Hi all. I've taken a lot of Honda trials picture from this site for my own enjoyment. I was thinking about starting a website just for some of these photos. Problem is I don't know if that's OK with the rightful owners. I won't put anything on there that shouldn't be. It's obviously not for anykind of profit. I think I'll just put them up and if you own one of them you can ask me to take it off, give me more information to add, or just ignore me. I'll give this post a little time for comments too. Eventually I'll just put a link on the bottom of my signature.

Hello, I am a new honda TLR200 driver. After riding good Montesa's ( 2x 348 and later a 311model) i ride some new gasgas bikes, the txt280 and the TXT280Pro 2002 model. This is the point that i didn't like trials no more. 2 hours driving means 4 hours get youre bike fixed for the next ride. I sold my bike because i did not like i anymore. Suddenly i fond my dreambike fore sale. A TLR200 in a not to bad condition. I always wanted this bike bacause its a trial, its a fore stroke whit an amazing sillent smooth sound, and it a Honda. I am going to strip i down an rebuild it new. New piston-valves-camchain-exhaust, and what ever it takes to build my dream completly …

Hi I have a Honda TLM 250, which seems to be very rare. Can anyone tell me anything about them, they were made between 1987 and 1991, and look alot like montesa's I need an air filter, and a Manual, or any information I can find. A blog from 2006, said a TY250 air filter fitted, anyone know if this is true. Cheers Graeme

Question for owners of the TRL 200... what is the gearing you have for your bike? Stock or ?? I'm finding... from my limited newbee experience... the bike seems to run much too fast just puttering around my backyard in 1st gear. According to an older trials book by a fellow named Perry, the speed should be such that you can walk along side of the bike in 1st gear at idle. I can do that at a pace perhaps 1.5 times faster than normal walking. I only wish I had someone in my area who could test ride this bike for me and make some recommendations. Unfortunately, trials seems to be a foreign word in the states. So, I'm on my own. Please give me some suggestions on what to …

Hi: I have changed one of my old Bultacos for this little toy; a TLR125 Honda. It is road registered and works quite well, it has all the original lights etc. etc. Any of you have an owners manual or any info about the bike??? I know nothing about it. It looks there where not saled in Spain, and here there is nothing about it available.

Apologies if this has been covered anywhere before, but I'm new here. Have just come by a TL125 project. The engine and frame nyumbers relate to a 1973 bike but it has a 2 piece head fitted. Also, currently fitted inthe bike is a CB100 engine complete, also with a 2 piece head. The cam bearings in the TL motor are goosed, but the CB seems fine. My question(s) are. Is it OK to fit the 2 piece head type 124cc top end on earlier 122cc engine? This engine had a problem many years ago, could the fail be down to mis matched parts? If you can mix the barrels will it be OK to use the CB100 head on the 124cc barrel? Thanks for any advice. Tom

Hey there, I have inherited a Honda TL with the Sammy miller high boy frame from my late father who was an avid bike collector. Anyway the bike has a Honda XL185 engine fitted with cdi stamped on it also. Engine number L185 se The bit im really interested in the frame number!! On the yoke I have stamped 267. Now from what the Sammy miller museum and honda trials history site says I can make out that between 1974-1980 a total of 750 frames were made. 500 of these were actually in full bike form. Having asked both the Sammy Miller museum (who still make the frames under licence)and the Honda trials history about frame number they have said to post on a trails forum and …

A guy has written in to me via the honda-trials.com website asking if anyone knows anything about this bike, I think this is a much bigger forum for such a question - so, does anyone know any more info about it? It has a Montesa tank/seat unit, XL250 motor and Aprilia front end. He was told the frame was a 'Mill's' it is nickel plated and nicely welded/brazed - anyone shed any other light? Thanks in advance for your help!

I have just picked up a Tlr 200 and it still has the standard Honda throttle fitted. It seems a bit firey, all or nothing. Does any one here know if it is a fast action one fitted as standard. I am wondering if it would be better with a Domino slow action or similar. Thanks in advance

I purchased this TLR some3 years ago from John Lee M/C Acording to John It had been stored for 12 years prior to him buying it. The general condition then was ok, the engine ran well, but the whole bike really needed stripping and brought back to as near original condition as possible. Some markings on the engine and wheels pointed to it possibly being used in the SSDT at some stage and also the engine has RTL250E005169 on it? is this normal? I rebuilt the bike 2 years ago to the standard you can see, and i then went to register it for the road and to cut a long story short discoverd it had been registerd by Honda Uk in 1986 with the reg number C613 UBY. I would be interes…

Good morning, I know its an old subject and I have read the forum entries and seen footage on Utube but..................... I have tightened the timing chain as per instructions, which seems to be well within the wear parameters, by setting the timing marks to TDC so the chain isn't under load, releasing the 14 mm locknut, removing the 10 mm nut on top and pulling up on the tensioner rod and tightening up again. Fine..........fired up, sounds great until you load it with revs and it appears to release itself somehow. THE QUESTION.......the tensioner rod has a bugle type head to it ( by the way this is free and not stuck it will push up and down ), once you pull it u…

On the recent subject of Honda four stroke trials development...here's a pic I've had in my "archives" for a while. It's supposodly from a Canadian round of the World Championship back in the 1970's. From the terrain it looks like British Columbia but can't say for sure? I originally thought it to be a privateer on a production TL ... but a few things look different, particularly the engine cases. In any case, the rider seems to have his hands full! Can anyone here identify the bike or rider? Regards, Doug
