After about four months my driving licence came this morning and I have tried to hire a van so I could get to the all fools trials tomorrow but no luck so I'm looking for a meeting to go to next weekend, Saturday or Sunday, I live in Burton so the closer the better, I am picking a 4x4 up hopefully on Monday with a tow bar already on it and I have already got a rack that fits onto the tow ball so I'm ready to go, I just need a trials, also I would like to get a days practice in so if you know of some where not to far for a practice that would be great. regards Tony

  3. Hi all, Sid here, based in North East London. Ive been biking all my life, but have recently got into trials. I want to get out a ride as much as I can. Working shifts gives me a shed load of free time during the week. I have just joined Berkhamstead MCC and plan on riding their ground at Nash Mills during the week. There is a club restriction of no loan riding on their practice ground. Therefore looking for people to ride with. PM me or contact on twitter @sidman10001 Cheers Sid

i have been in touch with gail at earl shilton trials club, to ask if the, all fools trial, on the 16th of this month would cater for me, a complete novice and she said yes, i can just turn up on the day, a friend of mine as said he can take me as long as he is not working away from home, i was just wondering if any of the earl shilton club members could give me some idea what to expect, things like is it rocky or muddy, that kind of thing. regards Tony

  10. Started by telecat,

Some of you may have noticed the announcement on the front page. I see the ACU want a "junior" version of the S3 Series for riders up to 23. Personally I think we have more than enough Nationals. Aside from the already congested fixture list that forces many clubs to run Trials on the same dates as other clubs in order to fit around National and Centre Trials where do they think these riders are coming from? Those who can already compete in the BTC or S3. The rest can afford to run in their local events or prefer the multi lap format Stop or No-Stop. Then of course there is the problem of finding land to run a 2 lap 20 section trial. Hard enough when you include road work…

Hi All On behalf of Normandy Motorcycle Club. With regret we have to announce that the Goodwin shield Pre-67 trial to be held at Hungry Hill on 23rd February has been cancelled. The MOD have stopped all motorised activities on their land for at least 5 weeks. Apologies everyone, we hope to run the trial later in the year, if it ever stops raining! http://www.normandymcc.co.uk Mick

This is on the front page, but posting here also to spread the word as much as possible: North Berks MCC - The 1st round of the S3 Championship, The Wallace Cup Trial has now been CANCELLED by request of the land owners due to the land being waterlogged. It is with great regret that we have had to do this as so much hard work has gone into the trial by many club members. We have to go with what the land owners ask as with out them we could not run trials. Very sorry to everyone who has entered, we have tried our hardest to run this event.

Can anybody confirm the venue of the above trial? It says on the Nene Valley website that it's at Cranford Firs, but a couple of my friends are convinced it's at Glendon Quarry. Would like to ride, so don't want to turn up to the wrong venue. Cheers Dave

  20. Started by stoker,

I'm sure this post has been done to death, but I'm getting more confused the more I read about things. I'm wanting to start trial riding for a bit of fun, nothing too competitive as yet. The last time I rode a bike was about 25 years ago and it was Yamaha TY175, the bike it's self will have been at least 10 years old at the time and you needed a crane to lift the front end up (you get the picture). I want something suitable and reliable but also something manageable, that won't fling me off at every opportunity. From what I've read the beta rev 3 seems to come recommended, but I don't really know. My inital thoughts were to go for something older but in good condition…
