Brilliant day out, cracking sections, new section marking system worked brilliantly, brilliant weather as well what more could you ask. Gary MacDonald won dropping 4, Craig Houston second on 43, don't know any more scores.

Further to my observation that many observers do not know the rules here's one that drives many riders mad. The ruling on flags isn't "touching" or even Pushing a flag. it's h) The rider is held responsible for displacing a marker or support in an observed section whereby the observer considers it necessary to reinstate the flag /marker prior to the passage of the next rider The displacing of a marking not relating to the competitor

Has anybody got any idea when a riding list will be available for this. I have entered again this year and I am hoping that I will get a ride. It will be the first time I have ridden it, but hear that it's a superb event. One of the best of the year!

This is one for you Midlands guys who have been using Linley Woods to practise in. If what I have heard today is correct, it seems that this piece of land, used for unobtrusive trials practise by small numbers of people for about thirty years, is now lost. Apparantly, the element of the 4x4 brigade that don't give a sh*t about anything but themselves discovered it and have been doing what they do best, carving the place up and causing considerable damage. This resulted in the residents getting a little miffed and calling the police. Spoke to someone on Sunday who said that if you had been on the intermediate rating or are now you no long go back down to novice and you are expected to ride the hard/expert rule! Any more info or comments?

Hi, just advising anyone who may use Eppleworth Quarry at South Cave for practising not to go anymore, I have been going for a few years with no problems but today me and a mate were warned by the police for trespassing. There was only the two of us there not doing any harm to anyone when the next thing we see a police helicopter circling around, we think it must be for something else and carry on riding, the next thing it is 20 feet above us and a copper is waving to us to leave. At the gate are 3 police vehicles and 4 officers and they gave us a stop and search warning and tell us if we are caught trespassing again they will confiscate our bikes. I know we probably sho…

Jings!, I finally made it to a local trial......that's two in two weekends! I spotted Andy's car embedded in the mud in the car park (did you have to get a push out Andy?)....then spotted the man himself at section 1 awaiting the bikes. I took a few shots with my point and shoot.

Could n't ride the Richmond trial at Crackpot last sunday due to work, however noticed in the results on their website that there did n't appear to be the clubman class as usual. Any reason for this as this is normally a fantastic trial for the clubman.

Just curious but does anyone know why Jack Challoner didnt ride on sunday?

Anybody know reason why 50/50 route has been dropped for over 50s class for this year.

Whats your view on this guys??? I ride in the E.Yorks centre, where the debate is simmering nicely. Previously clubs ran with Red/Blue flags, then an easier variation with Yellows. Classes then did either all hard / all easy or a number of sections somewhere inbetween. Now several clubs (of which Middlesbrrough was a pioneer) are running another set of flags - Greens........ Reason....... This allows the Exp some tough Expert only sections, allowing the Inter to drop to the green route (thus not riding the proper easy route). Hi Fellas Jason Clarke here from Rushden Park and Lakes who are the sole owners of the land some of you may frequent on your bikes. As from last week we have had no alternative but to inform the authorities about illegal activities taking place on our land and issueing section 59's of the road traffic act. You may not be aware but the damage being caused around the lakes has now gone to far and action will be taken. It would have been ok if the riders stayed out of the woods and from driving around the lakes but this is not enough for some people so you will all be penalised by this. Well, it looks like i'm going to be working in Edinborough for 2 weeks in march. That gives me a free weekend.. Any local events could come out to? Yesterday, whist out running with his wife, Leigh Jepson collapsed and tragically died of a massive heart attack. He will be sadly missed by all that knew him. I had the pleasure of knowing Leigh through trials in which he completed through the schoolboy ranks, and only putting it on hold until he qualified as a Doctor. When qualified he then competed in many big trials including the SSDT, Manx 2 Day, Lakes 2 Day, Reeth 3 Day and the Scott trial. He is the only rider I know that can manage to finish the Scott within the time limit despite stopping and treating an injured rider in the process. He was a true gentleman, a wonderful person and an excellent Doctor. I am absolu…
