Classic Trials

By request as it covers too many of the other forums

  1. Started by crankcase,

Hi Folks, I was watching scottish classic trials when I seen a couple of what looked like home made trials bikes possibly using chinese engines, (about 3 mins in) Does anyone know what these are, how they are allowed to compete in classics? I'd enjoy to make one of those if there was any info on building... Regards

Hi, when the Honda Cub was launched in 1958, apparently sometime after Honda entered a team in the Ssdt. I am talking about the C50/70/90 range of Cubs(autos) not the road bikes with manual clutch as was seen at the pre 65 this year. The Honda Cub was probably the most important motorcycle ever launched, look at the production figures. If it is true about the trials debut I as a Cub fan have not seen anything about it. P.S I have seen the U.S variations with knobbly tyres etc and high level exhaust systems. Thanks.

  3. Hi Guys, I'm new. I live in Portugal and always loved doing trials but in a very "unpro" way. I mean I have limited time to ride the bike, so if ride the bike I often feel like it has sqaure wheels, flat tires, and it on purpose makes me fall. Anyway, I still have a brand new exhust pipe lying in my shed and don't know what to do with it. The problem is I don't really know for wich bike it is. I know I bought it years ago from a trials lover (sorry for my bad English, I'm from Belgium) so I'm quite sure it's suppose to fit on a Honda Trials bike. But wich bike? Here are the specs: HM446 Honda Krizman Spark Arrester Model 411 US Pat #3407575 SANKEI 2045 Hopefully …

Firstly apologies, i am useless with ignition systems, and this one is so simple !! I have a Honda TL125 hat was running, as i didnt have a stop switch fitted yet, and as i had a connection in th the black lead that comes out of the stator coil (?) (one on left of engine, i pulled it apart and the engine stopped. Then straight away connected it back up and no spark at all. Then after a bit of messing, connected the lead to the white one coming out of the stator coil (?) - it then started - i then put my hand over the carb to stop the bike - it now wont start on either connection and only occassionally has a spark when connected to the white lead.? What have i done…

My 75' Honda TL250 has the stock tiny foot pegs. I see kits advertised to modify & enlarge the original footrests by welding in steel pieces. Have a MIG welder etc but would prefer to just buy quality modern style complete pegs that fit with none or minimal modification. Does anybody make these for my bike?

    - Honda 1976 TL250 Trials - new clutch? I've had the bike a few years, but ridden it very little. It came with piston slap, valve problems and other issues. Enough so that power is pretty weak. So I'm overhauling the engine. But because I've ridden it so little I'm not sure about the clutch. Mostly likely I'll just replace it. (The clutch pack was sticking when I purchased the bike). I'd like to hear from an TL250 owner. Seems to me (as the bike is geared so low) that with the clutch out, and enough throttle the front wheel ought to come right off the ground. Sound about right? Thanks, Dobbin22

  9. Started by Tiewrap,

I already had it for a while, but long waiting for parts and a broken CDI unit kept it from running. Now that it's running i am as proud as a monkey with 4 reproduce tools 😀 Hope they will add an extra pre90 class in classic trial.

  12. Hi i have seen many tiger cub trials. not using external/standard oil tank, it safe bit space and no running oil pipe. do i need to use morgo oil pump or standard oil pump will be ok ? Any pro and cons . please advise Regards

  13. Interesting.. everything about trials.. bikes and the people , are interesting. Some of these older twin shock bikes are as old as me.. how in the world do you guys find parts to keep them going ? Just wondering about? Say I found an older gas gas ? (1999) A 270 to be exact.. will I be able to get parts ? Someone told me it would be difficult.. but, then I see these old classics restored.. They are beautiful 😍 what's strange to me is... Why do I have an opinion? I know what looks/ style of bike I like. I like the looks of the gas gas bikes.. We'll, truthfully.. they all look basically the same to me. Maybe it's because I like to say "Gas Gas" ..?…
