Out for a long ride today and the water pump started leaking. I took it apart and this is what is there - http://www.ebizviewer.com/2008BetaRev3.jpg . Can it be saved or should I be getting a new internal clutch cover? It looks like the corrosion has prevented the o-ring to be held in place. I think the part no is 12-62663-0-67.

Went to start my 1995 250 beta techno this morning, it gave a slight chuff and now wont run. There is power going to the electric fan but no spark. All connections appear good. Can anyone adize on what checks I can carry out to confirm if the coil is good. There is a couple of black boxes under the tank area which I would like to check over as well. Cheers for any advice

Hi all Having a few issues with my evo 300 4t, when opening the bike up to attempt a big climb or step it seems to miss mid-top range but instantaneously clears, its almost like a splutter, or a resistance. drained the carb today thinking it maybe abit of moisture but doesnt seem to have cured it, just stripped the airbox off and exhaust ready to take carb off but i have ran out of light, and thought id ask you knowledgable guys if you have any ideas? spark plug is a NGK R non iridium?, comes out very light brown. p.s also has the arrow exhaust system. Any info or ideas u guys have will be greatly appreciated!

Having ridden an 06 and a 07 bike to ride back to back there is no noticable difference in the feel of them they are the same width across the frame and even sitting on them there does not feel any different i'm surprised i thought they would have felt a lot smaller. What are anyone else's veiws on this having ridden them?

I currently ride a 2009 Beta 290 Evo. I like the bike, but i have had to to make modifications to the suspension beyond simple adjustments that Beta built into the suspension. I have learned by talking to many trials riders that most trials riders dont put too much emphisis on their suspension setup. Most of them seem to only be concerned with adjusting the spring preload and other than rebound speed dont concern themselves much with the action of the hydrolic control thats built into the dampers front and rear. I am far out of the design envelope in terms of physical size "250lbs" and since Beta seemed to have targeted the OEM suspension setup for somone who weighs 160lb…

Step 1: remove stock clear plastic hoses

1. I've noticed that my 2016 EVO 300 4T burps coolant, to the point I'm having to add coolant almost every ride. I'll go through the circuit closely to make sure it's coming out of the cap overflow line, but a quick look seems to indicate that's where it's coming from. I rejetted the bike for my altitude, and it seems to run very well. The cooling fan seems to operate normally (comes on frequently, but doesn't run all of the time). Hi guys, I have a 2008 rev 80 which has recently developed a misfire at higher revs, it has a new plug, new HT cap have cleaned out the carb and the stator and checked all wiring but made no difference,we previously had a 2004 rev 80 with the same problem but I sold it with the misfire, the buyer intended to let me know what,when and how he cured it but he never did, so before I go throwing money at coils,cdi's and stators I just wondered if anybody has had this problem and could give me some pointers as to what cures it, is it a common problem with these Rev 80's, any info appreciated.

I have a 2004 Rev3 and there is a spot about an 1.5"(about 38mm) long of corrosion on the rim right where the rim band lip is. It is causing a leak. Looking for opinions on what I should do. I know there are many treads on TC about this issue, so searching for a good repair made my head spin. Getting a new rim is out of the question and putting a tube in it is a last resort as I have a brand new tire on it now. Thanks for the help.

Hi all This is my first bike so I'm looking for some enlightenment from some of you more experienced mechanics: I'm about to 'try' and change the main bearings on my 250cc 2000 Rev 3. I was hoping that one of you might be kind enough to spend a few minutes to give me a rough outline of the process involved. I just came off an Evo 300 4T, 2015, and got a '15 Montesa 260. I thought I'd share my opinions, if you don't mind... The Montesa feels heavier. Like you feel the weight picking the bike off the stand. Feels 10-15lbs heavier. BUT - when you ride it - you don't feel the weight. Why? The Montesa feels like it's two inches shorter in the wheelbase, specifically it feels like the front wheel is two inches further back (to me). This makes the front end feel very light. Add to this a much springier front fork, and more bottom end power, and she is a wheely-ing machine. Is there anything inherantly good or bad with this bike? Looking at one in good order but haven't had a ride on one. I would be comparing it to a '98 Montesa as far a suspension, power delivery and traction.

Guys, i have recently got an 08 Rev 3 250. There is lots I like about it, but i do have all the symptoms of 'Beta clutch drag'. I am going to perform the clutch mod as detailed in the sticky post, but I have a couple of points id like help with:- The bike is one owner and i believe on its original clutch. I wasny told it had been replaced at point of sale. If i ride slowly down hill on a closed throttle, i can hear the wheel turning the engine, and effecting engine braking. When I fully pull the clutch in, the engine braking noise continues for some 5+ metres, before the clutch frees and the engine returns to its natural idle. There isnt any clutch slip etc at the m…

Hi all, OK..I've had some problems with my old 2002 Beta recently. It starts fine, ticks over lovely, and runs OK...UNTILL you get to about 1 quarter throttle, and then it blubbs really badly. Tried cleaning carb, airbox etc., several times, and didnt make any difference. SO..started to look a bit further, and on taking out the reed 'block' I noticed the upper reed valves, and the metal springy bit that kind of holds them in was all scorched. Do any of you have any idea what would have caused that, and do you think it could also be the cause of my blubbing...(the bike blubbs, not me!) THanks in advance for all your wisdom.

Hi All, I bought an 01 rev3 250, I bought it as a non runner. (Didnt spark) I bought a new ht coil, lead and spark plug cap that didnt fix the problem. I realise that these bikes have cdi and stator problems can a newer model be fitted to cure the electrical problems? Also how do I test both the cdi and stator to ID the problem?

BETA FACTORY PARTS!! Seems a lot more shiney parts have been added, looks like Beta are quickly becomeing the manufature to offer the most trick bits. Matt

I have a 2016 300 4T with maybe 75 hours on it, almost 35 since valve adjustment. It runs fine and starts easy. On the last few rides, I noticed that the top end seems to be noisier than before. Nothing sounds horrible but there is some "clitter clatter". Probing the head area with a mechanics stethoscope, it seems a little louder at the cam chain tensioner. Is this normal? See the video. It does seem to sound worse in the video than in person. The deep sound that comes and goes is it quieting down a little when pulling in the clutch. Can anyone shed any light as to where us Beta Lovers can purchase the many trick parts on the new 2008 Top Trial Team Bike, i.e the white plastics silver carbon parts etc etc ????? Any help would be appreciated i am planning to strip my 07 Rev 3 over Xmas and get the frame and wheels powder coated or anodised not sure yet and would love some of the bits shown on this bike !! it's minted !! Just learning how to do this, always been impressed how the top lads do it so easily and how much of an advantage it can give you if you can master it. Ralph is like a f****ng kangeroo at it and will always go up the last 10-20 foot of any climb hopping even if it means giving away a dab at the top. One of those skills that will take ages to get good at and really hard on the arms and legs but great fun to do.
