Hi everyone. I have owned my Evo 250 4t from new, but it only has 19hrs on it. I have been told that it is nice a quiet in the past. However, I have always felt that it is a bit too tappety. I have removed the engine and checked the valves and following a few failed attempts the gaps are now definitely as per the manual. But still the rattling continues. can you please have a listen and advise what to check next.

Is there any way of identifying which rear spring I have in my 2014 250 Evo? I suspect the previous owner may have been a little large and fitted a heavier spring. I've just taken it off, expecting to find a part number or code on one of the ground ends, or perhaps some coloured paint dabs. But there is nothing! It has four and a half active coils and the wire gauge is about 9.5mm (ranges from 9.3 to 9.8 depending on where I measure).

  4. I’m often told when riding trials that my 2016 4t is really quite. However, I have always thought that it was a bit “tappety”. Anyhow I decided that if I can’t ride it at the moment I might as well check the clearances on the valves. So I ran the bike yesterday and left it overnight to cool right off. Today I stripped the bike down and took the valve covers off to check the clearances and found that the tappers were really tight! So much so that it took a full turn and a half on the adjustment screw to get the feeler gauges in. Any how I went ahead and adjusted to the correct gap and rebuilt the bike. Now the bike won’t start and is really hard to kick over. I…

Has anyone managed to source a fan motor for an evo. My 18 evo fan has virtually seized, bike overheated so I did all the usual checks - stat, wiring, etc and bottom line is the motor is toast but I obviously don't need the whole thing ie fan, housing etc I just need a new motor so £150 + seems a tad excessive. I've done a bit of digging and vertigo gas gas have a very "similar" and cheaper unit but I'm aware they may be a different spec. Just don't realy want spend £150 for something that is maybe available for a lot less just because it's not got "beta" links Cheers Chris

  6. Hi, New here. Tech question. I broke the piece holding my clutch lever in on the weekend, so replacement needed (currently held in place with zip ties and electricians tape LOL) I can't seem to find any info on the web so I am either searching for the wrong thing or it's just a standard sizing in this sport (coming from mountain biking where every brand has a different "standard" so not a lot of cross compatibility) . But I want to make sure that the replacement will just "plug and play". is there any banjo sizing compatibility that I should be aware of? From what I can tell the Beta's come with the Grimeca clutch master, but can't find info on the hose connec…

HI Guys I have a Beta Evo 300 4t 2011 I have been having an issue with the gear selector. When I shift up a gear the selector sticks at the top and doesn't move down unless i give it a tap. I have moved the selector with my hand and there is no resistance when pushing it up and only gravity pulling it back down to a neutral position. If I push the selector down the spring seems push's it back up. Could a broken arm on the spring be causing this? If so how hard is it to replace? Thanks

Got a beta evo 300 16 model, fan is only working intermittently, I’ve overrided the thermostat, wiggling the wires seems to affect the fan speed, also the headlight wire and connector block is getting very hot

Hi all. Little background to my problem first.Last year I did a trials tester day at Stuart Day’s and loved it,so much so that I bought one of his old bikes. My thinking behind this was to totally strip it down and teach myself how to put together a bike back together from scratch. Hands up,stupid idea as I’m well in over my skill set.The up side to this silly idea is I now have the knowledge to tackle jobs I wouldn’t have considered before, the downside is I have a bike in a bazillion bits that I’m struggling to reassemble. Just got to reassembling the forks(which I completely stripped down, powder coated and had rechromed )and can’t find any step by step in…

As above really, just getting back into trials after a few years off. Bought a bike as a 2014 but think it’s a bit older. Can anyone help me with the age please? Also hat should I be expecting as a trade in against an evo 4t? Thanks

  12. I pulled this bike apart and can find the pics I took of the dissassembly. Got everything placed except the CDI box. There is a metal bar with a slight bend in it that goes underneith a rubber mount, but I can't figure out where it mounts to the frame. It should be as easy as taking the top plastic cover off from the fuel fill port to the seat and snapping a few pics. I think it mounts either below the rear brake reservior or closer to the rear shock where the frame narrows. Thanks in advance.

I'm new to owning a Beta, in fact this is my first Trials bike (at 58) so any help would be appreciated. I recently bought a (as advertised) 2003 270 Rev 3, a while after getting it back I checked out the frame number and it had it as a 2000. Now yesterday while my Mrs was cooking the turkey I started to take it to bits as I want to give it a full refurb. Now after taking off the rear mud guard I see what appears to be the newer 2003 airbox which might explain why the exhaust can has a homemade extension so the bracket can attach to the subframe. Ay help would be great.

Apparently the Beta Evo 200 MY2021 Doesn't exist ! Well it does, because I've just purchased one. I've seen it with my own two eyes. But it's not listed on the beta website nor is it mentioned in the manual. So I have 2 questions......... 1. Why do they not list the bike on the website or manual? 2. Does it have the same specifications and as the 250?....ie Weight, Gear ratios, Carb settings etc etc or are things closer to the 125 ? Thanks in advance.

Hi all, Brand new to the trials world and looking forward to getting out on my "New to me" 2016 Beta Evo 250. So just two things, probably mentioned loads here already but really would like some reassurance on Petrol/Oil Ratio, some say this, some say that. Just don't want to wreck it before I start. So 1 litre of Petrol with 20ml of Oil? that be fine or maybe 25ml? Just not sure. Also I noticed that the rear brake light didn't come on, opened up the cover and to my surprise no bulb, not even the housing that would hold it or wiring... Is that right for this bike? Thanks, Looking forward to asking more dumb questions as I venture into the world of 2 Strok…

Hi I’ve recently had a 2020 Evo Factory 4T and I’m looking to get some fork guards. Can anyone recommend a guard make and can someone tell me what make are the actual forks -Tech,Paioli ?I have paioli guards on another older Beta but they offer no protection to the spindle clamp part of leg on new Evo 4T. One other thing does anyone know of a company that can do Graphics for this bike rather than buying genuine. Many Thanks John.

Hey folks.. just doing a water pump seal and noticed behind the water pump a deeper hole with some sort of irregular shaped foil hole behind it. I'm chasing a problem with coolant in the oil, and what seems like an air leak. The foil is thin... and not circular, and appears to connect the water pump directly to the crank case. I'm assuming this is a problem! Can I just plug this hole? Its odd that it is not co-planar with the crankcase gasket. Circled it in the picture.

Hello, I've just bought a 1988 Beta TR34. It requires some TLC but nothing major I believe. It was dismantled by previous owner, so I bought it in boxes but I got a photo of it put together My first bunch of questions: What type of engine oil and how much CC to use? What fork oil viscosty to use? I've found here to put 200ml per side. Is there a symbol or number for air filter? Mine has disintegrated and I would like to source one locally. Rear rim is tubeless type, it is fitted wit two valves at the moment I believe one should be replaced with rim lock. I am concerned if a standerd rim lock would seal properly and won't let air. Are there…

Hi guys, After much deliberation, I managed to purchase a new cylinder kit from molinari in Italy.. on looking to fit, I have found that the piston is a type B of 72.451. I've measured the cylinder and get 72.48/9. On working the tolerance , I get near 0.030mm ... which is around 1 thou.. Will this seize ?
