The exhaust system seems like it's not liked by many.. Tire rubbing, very difficult to service the middle box. I've been studying a bit in preparation to service mine. It occurs to me that the system is quite a bit different than other two stroke systems I've seen. The middle box is full of packing with just a perf tube running thru so it doesn't really seem to be much of an expansion chamber. It's almost like there is a middle silencer and an end silencer and no spans ion chamber. Can anyone shed some light on this? Has anyone tried gutting the middle box so it would have an expansion chamber. It seems like if a guy did that and then put a light weight aftermarket silenc…

Hi chaps,i need to sort this dragging clutch out on my sons bike.its not a major problem but i just want it right for him. I`ve been advised to buy a new clutch pack, but before i do,has anyone had the same problem??,i know about measuring the plates etc,but i`ve been told that it could be the `o`ring behind the top hat thingy behind the casing thats worn. The lever is nice and light, clutch operation is smooth, and yes i have back bled the clutch from the casing. Another thing is that although its dragging when lever is pulled back to the bars, the biting point is in what i would say is a normal position. Got any tips??? Thanks in advance

As above. Been ripped off on a private sale and bike gave up on my first trial. Great introduction to my new hobby. The questions are, how difficult a job is it to swap crank cases. I am a semi skilled engineer by trade but know little of engine internals. I realise I will need pullers but have also heard something about having to freeze and heat casings? Any links or help mucbh appreciated. Thanks

I was showing off my new bike to a friend and he commented that he never heard of a Cas Cas. After that, whenever I look at the logo it seems to need some improving upon so I created this:

The previous owner has already started modernising my '04 TXT 280 with Renthal Fat Clamps, Jitsie Bars, wheel rim decals and either newer white legged Marzocchi forks or had the old ones powder coated (yet to be discovered so any info oh how I can tell would be handy). So to finish it off i'll probably do the wheels black and add new plastics and/or decals, so my questions are: Will any of the newer graphics fit the older plastics, if so which ones? Will any of the newer plastics fit the older bike, if so which ones? Thanks in advance :-) The bike, for reference:

Many GasGas Pro owners experience clutch drag. The GasGas Pro clutch is very sensitive to the 'finger height' and the currently available complete clutch pack is too thick resulting in noticeable drag - the slave cylinder 'top hat' can't engage the 'shallower' finger height to hold tension or complete disengage. If a 2.00mm steel plate is replaced with a 1.30mm-1.50mm steel plate, the finger height will be too high resulting in slip - top hat stays engaged. I recently replaced my Pro clutch pack and discovered the following: GasGas only sells the complete clutch pack MT280232055 : 3 Friction plates MT280232051 and 2 steel plates.MT280232050 . See note below.. Each stee…

Now this is a curly one, after issues with faulty bottom end bearings, for some reason my the brass pressure relief valve beside the screw in radiator filler has started weeping, stops when fan comes on, i took cap off and it had like a carbon build up on the base and a bit of the thread of the main cap, also the relief valve was covered with gunk, not bad but a bit. I know its two stroke, BUT could the o'ring on the head be allowing pressure into the cooling system ?This is only recently happened, and it seems to coincide with a bit of detonation under throttle. I have dropped the needle 1 to lean it a bit, and will run in comp tomorrow. I did not when idling bike there…

Hi, I'm sure this question has been asked a million times but here it is again. Bike running perfectly and decided to fit a new magnetic kill switch. Easy peasy, unplug the old one from the CDi side and then swap the earth/ground over from old to new. It was pre wired for terminals. Now no spark and I have checked every wire under the tank for breaks, not being connected, etc. NOTHING I have a multi meter but not the small probes to check resistance in the CDi multi plug Can anyone help please?
