Hi, I have been told that you can run an M-80 250 with a 626, could it run ok on a 625 as I have a good on in my garage. What are the main differences between them ,625 has a cold start lever not a tickler so it may be a model 1.5, Cheers

Hi, need advice on replacement carb for M-80 sherpa. Would an amal Mk2 be suitable and any ideas on jetting, also can you get an adaptor for flange as Mk2 is just a circular fitting? Cheers, Myson

Hello all, At the moment i`m restoring my sherpa 198A with a mk2 concentric and i just cant get the thing to flood from the tickler. I`ve had the carb in bits probably 2 dozen times now, have checked everything is clear and put a new gasket in. The bike runs fine once its started which i can only do by taking the plug out and `priming` it with a drop of petrol. I`ve got new crank seals for going in so i`m hoping this will solve the problem. I`m wondering if the jets are wrong or there is even a jet missing. The float chamber is filling up fine and i`m at my wits end!!! My elderly Bultaco ( Model 21-Campera)uses a Amal Monoblock #376 25. The "25" apparently refers to the diameter of the throat. I was told that the carburetor and manifold came off of a Mercurio. I want to buy a new replacement and the only source that I can find right now is the OEM...Amal or Hitchcocks. Hitchcocks apparently specializes in older British four strokes and Royal Enfields. I have had no luck looking around the internet for the original specs of this carburetor. First of all, can anyone supply me with the information that I would need to order such a carb. For example, I have carefully examined the needle on my old carburetor and I can find no markings...sa…

For my M92 project I have the offer of a barely used Dellorto, from a 2003 Gas Gas pro 300. I havent got it to measure yet but I think the spiggot OD is 31mm. Does anyone know if this is right and what carb rubber I need to fit to the two stud amal fitting? Does anyone in the UK sell a rubber for an amal to dellorto conversion? Cheers Hoodie.

Now that the carb switch was complete with good results, a shakedown ride revealed another problem: The drive chain is rubbing the cases enough to mar them. The drive chain appears to be the correct size. I wondered if a thrust washer was missing behind the sprocket, but a schematic found on this site doesn't show one. I tried to pull the counter shaft in and out to check for some obvious play, but found none. I can come up with a washer of some kind without too much trouble, but I don't know if there are other issues that need addressed. Thoughts?

Hi. I wondered if anyone could identify this frame, I think that it is an early model that has had an aluminium bash plate added at some stage. I'm sorry about the poor quality of the pics... i think the autofocus was focusing on the background. i'll try to take some better ones later.The number on the headstock is 618292 This doesn't seem to correspond with any of the bultaco model identification sites.

Saw this one linked from Todotrial yesterday. A few interesting mods and still looks like a Sherpa. Link Then select "Reportaje Sherpa " Seems like he's possibly using Alpina Yokes for less to zero offset and no tiller steering. Interesting exhaust setup. Obviously ridden by a capable rider though. Wayne....

hi can anyone give me any info on the Sherpa t 350 151 model it has tank and side panels all in one aluminium tank as trying to find any info on the 151 model seems scarce any help appreciated

So does anybody know the length the springs should be in a pair of Bultaco Sherpa Betor forks? Just want to know if they have sagged at all. Oh yeah the bikes a 1981 340 199B but i think they are all the same forks. thanks

In my model 49 parts book beside the front wheel spokes it has written in pen, probably by my dad: "use 86-04-003/5" I think this might be because the rim he was using had a different ERD (effective rim diameter) to the standard one. Does anybody happen to know (or can look up) the spec for these part numbers. It should be spokes, and presumably there are two different angles for the inside and outside spokes. Thanks!

Just wondered cos i have a spare front end from an OSSA gripper languishing in the corner of the shed and one of the main things that puts me off riding the 199B is the orrible feel of the tiller steering so just wondered if anybody had tried non leading axle forks? Using the Ossa yokes as well would also get rid of the tiller effect which feels very strange. Funny thing is in their day i dont seem to remember it bothering me but it does now.

Hi all I'm just finishing the restoration of a M91 Bultaco and I've got as far as doing the wiring. The stator plate I have has 2 gold coloured coils, points at the top and a condensor at the bottom. The problem is I have no wires. What should I have and where should they run too?

Im trying to find out the history of my bultaco, its had quite a few modifications done to the rear end and wondered if anyone has info on it. I do know it was sold new in darlington and had been garaged locally for a lot of years. Ive given it a partial restoration and check over so it can be ridden.

Dear All, I'm now at the stage of putting my Frontera back together. I've got one of the Electrex electronic units and am too embarassed to ring them yet again as to how to set up the timing! I have their info sheet but I still can't work it out. The Bultaco manual says static timing should be 2.4-2.6 mm BTDC, that's static timing. The Electrex unit automatically advances above 4,000 rpm. The Electrex sheet says that 2.4mm BTDC equates to 22:30' degrees BTDC on the flywheel and suggests you use a strobe to set the engine (i.e. when running) to this. So engine running set to 2.4 mm BTDC, engine static 2.4mm BTDC. SO where's teh advance gone? DO they mean that you run the…

I,m getting ready to apply a set of 199b style decals to my brothers bike and just wondering what is the best way to go about it ? I,m usually not too good at getting them straight and just wondered what I could put down that would enable me to move them around into place.It is a painted tank.

its got to be said that footpegs on a sherpa are not the best, especially compared to the ones on any mono can any one tell me are there moderen pegs that will go straight onto my 76 sherpa T model 159, or do i need to to get some one to weld new brackets on etc etc if there are not any you can get off the shelf i wonder if bultaco uk would think about developing some as this is a sensible upgrade which many people would benifit form?

Hi all, I'm interested in buying a Bultaco and was wondering if there is a model year or size that I should stay away from because of mechanical or ..... problems?
