Say you were just getting started in Trials (me), but also did adventure trips in the summer. I think these Leatt HydraDri 7.5 boots might work well for both, thoughts from the group?https://www.advrider.com/leatt-hydradri-7-5-boots/ My other boots are very stiff, heavy motocross style (Astar Tech 8). Thanks.

Gaerne Boots are popular and for good reason. Very comfortable. One thing is the soles do tend to get chewed up, at least mine did. I posted about the soles while back. I bought some Shoe Goo, and I have been pleasantly surprised at how well it fills in the deep ruts left by the pegs. I grabbed a tube of it and filled in the divots. Let it settle in for 48 hours before riding and it helps to have a plastic disposable knife or similar to smooth it out a bit before it hardens up. Lasted awhile and cheap. Just thought I'd pass it on.

"Proper" trials clothing (shirt and trousers) is expensive but should be made for the job. So why does mud and chain grease not wash off easily? Does anyone have any cunning methods for keeping their riding gear looking good?

I'm wanting a helmet, I've telephoned Cambridgeshire Trials Centre, which is 1/2hr away from me he didn't know what he had in stock, he said he would ring me back & he never has, & he isn't open on a Saturday. What other options are there in the East of England? I want to go & try something on for size & fit, rather than buying blind on line. Thanks in advance, Martin.

Found these online for a good price, so treated myself to them to go with my new helmet. I have three other pairs of Sidi boots, love the quality and build of them all.

Hi Can anyone recommend a glue that will repair my sons trials boots.... There are Gearnes and have ripped down the side, the plastic shin part has come away from the leather on the side, looks like it was once stiched... Is there any glue out there, that will get the job done, at present I am taping the boot up when he rides... Cheers...

Hi all, as we spend some time doing trials the mx clothing is getting uncomfortable. But beeing middle age, protection is also wishfully. So I am looking for trousers that are comfortable and are suitable with decent knee pads, or are there pants with kneepads built in ? Where we live are not really shops that have some clothing, the sport is pretty small over here. I'm a bit afraid to order tight trousers, my legs barely fit in normal jeans while the waist is not large. (Cyclist)

Looked outside around 4pm today....looked a bit wet still, but it wasn't raining and about 4C at 4pm, so I took the GasGas trials bike out for some playtime in the yard. Had a blast....a few dabs, but didn't dump the bike, and given that I did the monster log crossing (thanks Treeguy!) about a dozen times, zigzagged through the pine stand and did wheelies over the driveway, that was good! Even went for a bit of an exploring session...there's a hardwood bush SW of my place that has wide dirt tracks (pickup truck sized) criss-crossing all through it, and going within 200 metres of the 400 highway, with a few small hills, a bit of light mud, a stream crossing and just gene…

I was particularly thinking about boots... It sure would be nice to have a place to post gear for sale, or wanted. I bet there's a lot of gear that's been grown out of but is still in good shape. My kid is wearing MX boots, as he needs a new pair every year. No way could I buy him new trials boots at that rate. I'm still wearing 80's vintage red, white and blue Alpinestars!

I've just bought some new Forma Boulder boots to replace my Alpinestars which have given up after five years. To be fair they have been soaked and dried very week with no further care. I am keen to get the boots to last and have gone black instead of white which look like crap after a few rides. The question is what product is best for the boot preparation, softening of leather and preserving etc. Ive heard that Neats foot oil is good but others ay its full of petroleum which is not good. Advice?
