Four-Stroke

I'm thinking about buying a 4 stroker any one rode all of the different bikes?? How do they compare??

Hi have a JDM Honda TLR250R engine which has been fitted to a special frame. As you know this engine was a Japanese only model so information & spares can be hard to get hold off. Can anyone on the forum help in getting information about this particular engine, engine diagrams, part sheets, wiring diagrams etc?. A source of spares, address/Tel number/ email would be also be most welcome.

Thats it for now i have tried all the new breed four bangers the new scorpa seems nice (to early to tell )but the sherco was fine for about three months. as a clubman level ride i think the scorpa will fit right in I am finally getting used to my monty (really soft usable power with restictors in ) and the kit is on the way for the sherco ,now this bike is really an expert level bike (to much power for me) Lots of people comment on the noise of the fourstroke have they never heard a pre 65 bike now that is noisey,but i love them aswell

the other day i went out a spin on my bike im only a learner - anyway a went straight into a ditch an came off it when a looked at the bike there was little oil coming out the gearbox, could this be a crack in the seal or something?

Hello everyone, I am currently recovering from a cruciate knee ligament operation and therefore I have a bit of time on my hands to do some research as to what trials bike I should purchase next. I also believe that by deciding what bike to get next will help me as inspiration / goal to fully recover and be riding again by the beginning of 2009. I am in my early 30's now and have always ridden 2 strokes (clubman / intermediate level) but did own a 4rt which was sold after 3 months as I seemed to be riding worse probarbly due to me being heavy handed on the throttle. How are people who've gone from 2t to 4t bikes finding the change??? Its taken me about 10 hours to feel really comfortable, but a lot of this was down to bike set up!!

does anyone know much about these bikes as ive just brought one are spares available im going to twin shock convert the bike but leave the mono shock on as well as im a fat ******* ive ordered a 9 tooth front sprocket for a tlr 250 twin shock hope it fits !! any advise would be nice also any idea where i mite get spares from when i need them

Has any body with a monty 4rt had it totally deristricted and if so did it make a big difference

Looks like the monty 4rt has got power after all! I dont think an under powered heavy bike with the extra weight of a chair and another person could win a national trial do you ? I think the doupters should take note,4 STROKE IS THE WAY TO GO.

I have heard all the stories that modern unleaded fuel goes off and has a very short shelf life - I was a ltlle scheptical but now I know its true. Took my trusty old TLR to a trial yesterday along with a tin of petrol from the shed - suspect the fuel in the tank was same age - no more than 4 weeks old. Normaly I give the bike a run the day before just to check all is well but this time was a last minute effort. Loads bike on trailer and off I goes, usually i top up with fuel on the way - dont bother since running late. Starts bike on choke - sounds bit rough - unusual for this bike, its normally trouble free and was perf4ect the last time I used it. lots of smoke…

Not sure if there has been a topic on this before but i couldnt find one anyways so............... Just wondering, went to nord vue yesterday, apart from cabestany, the sherco and beta riders were on 2 strokes. Just wondering why dougie, brown, wigg and all the others dont ride the 4 strokes. obvioulsy the gasgas and montesa riders dont get a choice also in club trials, most people seem to still buy 2 strokes, maybe due to cost? I dunno when the gasgas 4 stroke comes out, will raga ride it, or stick with the 2 stroke? Whats your thoughts?

Hi all, My bantams well on its way to being finished so though I would get myself another project. A BSA Barracuda 250cc. Im going to strip it down and convert it to yet another trials bike as I am planning on competing in a few trials :-) Question - Can I use My spare Bantam hubs and fit them to the bike and if they can will the braking be efficent enough to pass an MOT as I wil take it to local shows?? Two stroke Vs Four stroke traction theory. This is an open letter placing down my curiosity as to the realty of my thoughts of two vs four stroke traction. It is looking at the theory vs reality. Given that a two stroke crank rotates (under power) with every pulse of the spark plug means that every rotation of the crank is under power and therefore no free wheeling in affect. The pulses are somewhat smooth as there is no coasting just continuous power being sent to the back wheel as long as you have the clutch out and the gas on. Hi all, After the first year of use, I think we have more clear the arguments of the new 4S machines. I own a 4RT with just one year old and I would highlight this points: - Flawless bike. No problems at all in this first year. The bike keeps intact its performance in one year. - Great response of engine, always constant in any situation. - A little bit heavy in front, difficult turning.
