  1. Get up to Howden Wood in Silsden for the Bradford trial, just 1 hour from Manchester.
  2. This contradicts what you said earlier. You stated that it would be great to have the likes of Doug and Raga ride some national trials so that the young up and coming riders could compare themselves to the mighty :madsanta:
  3. My favourites are the ones I can finish (not last ) In no particular order... Colonial SSDT White Rose Scott (no, I haven't finished this one) Wainwright BDMC Boxing Day trial List of trials I need to do... Manx Loch Lomond Any Euro 2/3/4 day trial A Pre-65 trial Hawkstone World Round Southern trial wi no rocks

:madsanta: Are you reading this Heath?
  5. It might not be Grimbo that's selling or buying - and that is all I'm saying

Last year was just as bad, realised I didn't have a punch card after section 1
  8. Did you actually issue the challenge to young Smage? Or are you just taking the credit for it?

    05 Beta Feedback

After every wash, I remove the mag cover and start the bike up. Lean it against a wall and let the moisture drain out while the engine heats up and dries it all proper Quick squirt of WD40 and she's done, I never silicone the mag cover back on either...
  13. It will raise the gearing, which will make the bike quicker in each gear. Great for long distance commuting but not so great in tight nadgery sections
  14. Commendable, no question about it and certainly no complaints from me. Suggestions for helping youths progress is great but to then unilaterally think we are all tight because it's only 20p a week is uncalled for I would be one of the 1% that stayed but that would be my personal choice :hat:
  15. Maybe reduce the number of trophies and try to source a cheaper supplier. There you go, a few quid saved already
  16. I've only just noticed this thread... I want to support and promote youth riders but I would be pi**ed off if it was made compulsory via an increase in my ACU licence fee! In fact, I can't believe anyone could be that naive to even suggest it! Stealth 'Sunday' Tax for the lads and lasses that just want to escape from the wife/husband and kids for the day? Supporting a promising youth rider HAS to be a voluntary choice, buying them a rear Michelin or Dunlop now and again is much appreciated and better than now
  17. I'd rather put up with a leaky Mikuni carb on a Beta :santa1:

Mine arrived today, too sodding late no doubt
  19. whats that in real money... ounces!!! I left school in 1982 and i was taught metric all the way through!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Bloody snob! I left a year later and we were still on inches, ounces and shillings - it's grim up North... :hat:
  20. I'm not usually a fan of old bikes seeing as I'm only a youngster but that looks gorgeous...

    05 Beta Feedback

I bought the bike from Appy's 6 weeks before this years SSDT and called in at JLI's to buy some bits on the way home. John kindly offered to have it prepped properly by Griffo, as he wanted to give me the best possible chance of finishing the full 6 days (he must have seen me ride before!) I believe that part of this bike prep included the 06 stator along with some other nifty little tweaks here and there. So, why did they replace a brand new stator on a brand new bike owned by Joe Clubman who only has a slim chance of finishing anyway? Maybe because they care about every single customer who buys Beta and maybe because they recognise that there is the odd one in every batch that hasn't been manufactured 100% perfectly... (My Vito van has been recalled twice due to failing parts supplied by 3rd party manufacturers!) JLI's have always been really helpful to me and I return the favour by sticking with the Beta brand each year. You simply cannot beat good customer service and that is something that the Silsden crew have nailed down to absolute perfection. The Beta's are a cracking bike with superb build quality, some folk bitch and whinge about dodgy electrics and leaky carbs till the cows come home. Why? The carb fix costs

    05 Beta Feedback

I have a 9 month old 05 Beta that has the 06 stator fitted, not had a problem with the electrics on any of the 3 Beta's that I've had. It's for sale too
  23. I first noticed the blonde, then the brunette, then the front wheel and then as if by magic - I noticed you, the bike and the section... Pleased to say my eyes are still in good fettle
  24. I was only joking about the email Do you have an FTP server I can upload it to?
