Pre Mix Fuel - Does Age Matter?
What we have here in Canada ( Aspen like ) is either 50:1 premix or 4 stroke fuel. I've been using the premix in all the equipment ( 4 str and 2 str ) for many years. I empty the fuel tank run the motor until it starve, put enough in the tank to run the motor for a few minutes and shut it down. When it's time to restart the equipment, I just add fresh fuel and go. Never had any problem since I go that way. Guy PS. : It's sadly nearly time to do it in my bikes, the weatherman is calling for snow in the next 2 week.

To stop not or not to stop.
This morning, I'm going to our local club for the next to last event. Great bunch of guys, nice sections, and I'll mark 5 on each section before I begin the competition because I've seen too many 5 marked as 2 or 3. That way I can enjoy it all and anybody can mark themselves all 0. I will simply enjoy the ride. Guy

The First Chinese Trials Bike
I had a ride on a new one in the parking of yesterday event here. The bike is a little heavy but plaisant to ride, it feel nimble. Only low score is the clutch is on the stiff side. I will let the owner make the first scratch on it and ask to ride it in a few sections. Guy

Helmet disinfectant
Dan, if you let the Lysol sprayed helmet ( and all the other stinky protective gear ) on the shelf or outside when possible, there is no residual smell. It would also drive me crasy. Guy

1978 Yamaha TY250 No Power
Timing and carb. , a 78 should be equipped with a Mikuni carb normally reliable, but if it's worn out it can mean trouble. I run my B model with the carb a LITTLE on the lean side, I insist little. from memory I setup the timing at 3.2mm BTD. Also I ran for a long time with a 0.005 inch tick head gasket, now back to original. And follow JohnV8 advise Guy

bike gearing , sprockets ??'s
When I bought my 15 Sherco, I found it nervous and I felt the first gear '' too long ''. I change the rear sprocket from 40 to 42t. I'm now more confortable in slower section and I feel more control with the throttle. You might think the opposite since the gearing in shorter, but it did the job for me. Guy

TE
I had 2 ride on a EM lately and I could not get confortable on it. The clutch is, for me, a must. I'm not an expert and I don't want to start a war with the EM owners, but way the Yamaha rider use the clutch make me think that the transition to electric for me is definitely with one. Guy

Gas for your Beta Evo
I run Shell Ultra, I empty the hose in my pickup and fill a 20 litre can that I mix with Motul 710 also at 80 to 1. I think the Shell is the same in Ontario as here in Quebec. Guy
