  1. Stand on the rear brake without pulling the clutch in.
  2. Not far away you cab find the hotbed of Italian trials in Bergamo which is about 1 hour north of Milan. Future trial have a shop. Many places do not carry much stock these days so it may be worth using the internet to get delivery to your work address.
  3. Every time I ride. Which is practice or an event once a week. Keep a clean oiled spare, exchange then wash and prepare used one. Engines are too expensive to recondition compared to the effort to change a filter.

Not quite the "Gordon Jackson dab" but gives a good idea of how DL lost what will probably turn out to be his few marks of the week. (It was a very generous benefit of the doubt in my opinion). Thanks to John Hird for the new perspective, reminds me why I have never wanted to do the SSDT, it would just be too physically tough to be enjoyable. Hats off to all finishers!
  5. I would suspect the middle box of the exhaust has become restricted due to the build up of combustion products. Try burning it clear or repacking. Which tailpipe are you using? The standard aluminium one is very restrictive so try something different or clean it out.
  6. What has he started the event on finally??
  7. Can you confirm if you are using original 428 or bigger 520 chain and how many teeth on rear sprocket?
  8. Is it a road based trial? What about eligibility constraints licence etc. As you probably know there is the 2 day Arbecy trial on 24/25 August. It may be better to think about succesive weekends Thanks
  9. Gear can be relatively simple. Open face helmet, trials specific boots and gloves are all the essentials. I have used Alpinestars MX pants in winter but prefer trials lycra for most of the year. (By the way Wulfsport is cheap and good enough). I personally use a long sleeve shirt but that up to you. Most of all enjoy, its not what you look like!
  10. Dave Renham of Bulto UK????

Fitting a later 4 pot caliper is the solution

I remember the first Beta Zero being unveiled in Fort William, not a good week for Jordi!
  13. What compression piston are you using. Best combinations seem to be R cam and low comp piston or std cam and high comp piston. I use the former.
  14. Try In motion for the piston or Sandifords
  15. Looking for the best oversize lining for a TY175. Drum had already been machined. What material do I need and who can machine the surface. any suggestions?
  16. I have applied the technique to a TY175 clutch and the difference is remarkable to say the least!!!!
  17. Nice ride from Mr Jitsie to win the event by a mile!!!!!! It was a good day out at Warken, hope everyone enjoyed it.
  18. How come when I stood next to the bloke weighing riders bikes at the French round last year that the Mont was on the minimum limit?
  19. Wulfsport do very good cheap kit and often sell last years model at a discount. They also do black gear under the max equipe brand.
  20. Kindsvogle in Germany, Snezzy in Belgium
  21. Try trials online.com and search by year
  22. Cheapest world championship Honda will ever win!

I had a set of damper rods and springs from Craig fitted to my twinshock forks. The damper rods are copies of those used by the works team. The difference is worth the investment and keeps the bike original!
  24. Having known Birks for the last 30 years or so I can say he is one of the most genuine and knowledgeable trials enthusiast I have had the pleasure to know. In my experience of visiting a good few world rounds over the years all the other "superstars" are very decent human beings I can think of Mart, Malcolm, Dougie, Grimbo, Eddy, the Steve's (Saunders and Colley) to name but a very few. I think we are lucky to participate in a sport without the mega ego's that exist elsewhere.
  25. There is a fuel tank which looks almost exactly like the Bantam one on ebay
