  1. The only diffrance besides graphics is the front forks. '07 have the Piaoli's and 08 the Marrzochi's. I had an 08, no need to hold out for one.
  2. The Domino throttle is designed so that if the throttle gets stuck wide open in a crash or anything else, the throttle cable can be ripped out of the throttle housing (sending the cover flying)it's a sfety thing why the throttle is designed the way it is. I too have had my cable grabbed by a branch, but had my finger on the clutch, so no big deal.

    How Long 2T

People are funny. Why would it ever matter what side the kickstart is on? (unless you had a bad leg) I've had a number of Beta's and Sherco's, makes no diffrance how you start it.
  4. 1 yes, never had any issues with it. 2 from what I hear it doesn't slip under extreme load. Sometimes the stock clutch will howel when used hard. If your kid is using it hard enough to make that happen then you may need one. 3 no, never saw a need for one. 4 you can install aftermarket reeds for a older KTM 65. We did this (boyesen), didn't make that much of a diffrance. The Beta 80 is an awesome bike! Enjoy it!
  5. Happy? Hell, you have to fight them every step of the way, not try and make them happy! I don't know why everybody is so exited about these things. I've ridden electric bikes from Zero etc. and in a word they suck! Other than noise they have no advantage over a gas powered bike and our trials bikes don't make much noise anyways! Electric bikes are expensive, extra batteries are expensive, when they give a run time that's a best case scenario, when we actually ran them hard they ran down in less than 10 min.! Power was less than an 85cc. I'm disappointed to see manufacturers messing with these. It just makes it closer to a day when we may be forced to ride them. Hopefully they'll last even less time than 4t trials bikes, which I actually like by the way.
  6. Umm no, bike was basiclly new when I sent it.
  7. How funny, trials is a small world, I sent that bike to Sweden! That Paxau Academy has about as much power as a 200. Awesome running bike!
  8. Yep, they tend to do that, nothing wrong with your rear wheel. On some Sherco's I've cocked the rear wheel slightly using the chain adjusters just enough so it doesn't rub.
  9. A '97 Beta was my first trials bike too. I can assure you a new EVO feels much lighter than your bike too. Steel vs. Alloy, don't think it really makes a huge diffrance, just style you like. While a steel frame may be easier to repair, I've also seen more cracks and bends in the steel framed bikes.

    Parts in the US?

Go to www.americanbeta.com and look up dealers. Should be one in your part of the world. If not I know a dealer in Ca. that would be happy to help you!

    Scorpa Wheels

Try the S3 rim stickers. I don't think they are on RYP's site, but they have them. They are nice and tough and look pretty cool!

    Clutch nut problem

I'm thinking you may not have installed the washer that goes behind the clutch basket? On the clutch shaft.

    225 kit

Does the S3 flywheel weight only fit the bigger bikes and not the 125 flywheel?
  14. Yes, the Sherco 4t's muffler does get very hot! Never melted the guard on mine though. Interesting thing is, seems the hotter the day, the hotter the bike is, the better it runs! On a 2t a hot muffler would indicate a ignition issue. Friend of mine had that and it ended up being a loose flywheel.

    sherco s3 head

Can't speak for a 250, but it really helps out the 125.
  16. Hey Jordon, I didn't notice where you from at first! Anyways I wouldn't expect a big change for 2012. What I'm not sure is what Scorpa's/Sherco's marketing angle is with Scorpa. Personally I love the handling of the new bike! They kept the good traits of the old bike and fixed some of the bad. I'm just not sure if it will appeal to that many people since the basic design is now 10 years old. I'm very happy with my Scorpa, I just hope more people give it a chance.
  17. RYP/Scorpa USA really do the best they can with Scorpa. They put a young rider on the 125 that was the top rider at the youth nationals. Brad (Ryan's partner) has a Scorpa for his own bike. Lately they've had all the Scorpa parts I've needed! Support doesn't get much better than that.
  18. Had it happen too on long trailer rides. Without a petcock the bouncing allows more fuel in. Best to install some sort of petcock or do as we do on long trips, squeeze the line off with smooth jawed vise grips. As mentioned when flooded, hold wide open with no choke.
  19. Cope, Yes I've played around with the OKO, had one on his 2010 125. Ran great, but had float issues. I tried it on my 2010 250, it was OK. I then tried the Keihin and liked it better. So far he hasn't been hard on bikes, guess that's why he didn't make the "Gnarly Trials Video" Are you sure you don't want a 2011 125?
  20. Hmm, The 07 Caby had the silver plastic. It also had the same style graphics & red rims as this bike, but graphics had silver in them instead of white. I don't know, maybe just no Caby's here in the U.S. in 08? Either way, nice looking bike
  21. I believe your looking at an 07. No Caby's in 08, though they did have the 10th annvesary edition that year with a silver frame. As for the map switch, we just remove ours. Makes no diffrance.
  22. I don't think we'll know until we get them. The online specs say it will have it. I think he assumed it wouldn't since the 250 didn't get the 28mm last year. Getting a 250 for my son, if it doesn't come with a keihin we'll probably put one on.

    2012 Sherco

Interesting. All new frame in '10. New motor in '11. and now your disappointed in no more big changes? New fork, shock and linkage can make all the difference! Plus all the other little tweaks. Looking back, years like this are the year you buy. They've done the big changes in previous years and now in '12 they do all the little stuff to make the bike great. 07-08 where great years for the Sherco's, 06 not as much. Yet they looked almost the same. Having a bike with all the latest technology isn't what makes it good. What makes a bike good is good handling-suspension-turning etc, good power, and reliable. Whether the '12 Sherco fits that bill or not is up to you.
  24. On my 07 3.2 I found the stock jetting best with the air screw only 1/4 to 3/4 turn out. Another interesting thing on the '07. It didn't have a drain hole for the spark plug area like the later models do. The plug cap is suppose to be sealed, but it can leak. Make sure there is no moisture down in the plug area, this can make the bike run strange when the water heats up and becomes vapor.
