A trials bicycle would be the training tool.

Formula Rear Brake Advice - 2012 280 Pro
Four pots have been done before. Most brakes work fine from the factory. You bought a bike which the brakes worked poorly. On the other hand trials bikes are a very small market, and most riders are by nature cheap! Good luck on the rebuild. Just for your info when the Formula brakes came out, most riders swapped the brakes off the old bike. Some did that several years in a row!

Formula Rear Brake Advice - 2012 280 Pro
Well at this point I would strip and clean the whole system. Tear the caliper apart and the master cylinder.

Pilot Jet...to Go Big Or Small, And Which Is Which? It's All So Confusing!
It is a bit of a mystery. On the modern bikes we go larger at altitude. It`s been this way awhile. Although 7000ft is not real high. It has to due with atmospheric pressure, totally backwards of reason. The TK was a strange cab though.

I Had A Thought!
I`m one of the honorary founders of The Selfish *******s Club. All of our members put motorcycles and trials before anything else. I have had several changes of occupations through the years, but putting riding before anything else is what I have done the best!

2000 Txt280 Project
Try this http://www.trialspartsusa.com/ everything you need is here and Jim is the Gas Gas parts distributer. Pretty basic bike. The power is smooth because we actually turn in trials.

Trial Motorcycle, Best Engine
If you are talking about a purpose built engine design it would be Fantic. They had the first quick revving motor. The trials oriented engineering with the shift shaft high out of the way (Why no other manufacturer has done this is beyond me) and the friendly forward kicking.

New Bike Nightmare.
You are correct. The Gassser is the best bike in the parking lot. Honestly it does some things very well, but track is not one of them. Unless you are trying to be a top rider, ride something else that will give you a better score. That`s been the case since the first Pro.

Fork Seal Txt 125 Pro Racing 2013
Think you have too many numbers. Sounds like a 40x52x8 will work fine.

Hard Starting Factory
You can not just start kicking a Pro as that is why the kick start pawl breaks over time. Take a look at a parts diagram. All other bikes it is a round gear. This thing is just a short piece. You have to feel the engagement first.
-
Hard Starting Factory
You just can`t kick a Pro. You have to engage the gear, bring it to top center, make sure the gears are engaged and give it a very quick kick. It`s a very small gear, only about a third round of a normal gear.

Fast/slow Action Domina Throttles...noticeable Difference?
The initial ramp of the throttle is quite different between the two. Hard to say if on the SWM there would be much difference.

Gas Gas Txt 250 Edition 2002 Kick Start
You put it together wrong. Two gaskets would screw up the water pump gear.

Rev 3 Standard Sprocket Size
I always ran a ten up front and never used first.

2014 Racing Forks Info
Are you sure that you don`t need to pull the spring down as the cap threads on the rod.

Front Or Rear Brake In Tight Turns? Newbee's Question :)
When learning it is best to do circles tighter and tighter and then figure eights. At first just throttle control. But to answer the brake question, use both lightly in unison to keep a proper balance. Using just one causes jerking motions which results in bad habits. Watch an event. The lower riders will use just one brake and the results are sometimes comical. Watch a good rider, everything is nice and smooth.

Reliability
I was going to agree with the Pro comments, then you ramble on about levers rotating during crashes and that is the factories fault?

How Do You Get Oil Into Your Gas Gas ?
The strike occurs just trying to post. If you do not hold the curser low enough, it can hit the font size etc.

How Do You Get Oil Into Your Gas Gas ?
The hole is small. If nothing else pull the rubber end off the throttle cable for a make shift funnel. Also the skilled just pour the oil on a knife blade and guide it in the hole.

Anyone Have A 'ladybird' Guide To Converting A Tyr To Twinshock
Thanks for starting this thread. I have recently acquired a donor frame. The idea is to swap back and forth frames depending on what rules I decide to ride. Our nationals have an open vintage class. Air cooled and twin shock, no hydraulics is about it for the bike. Perfect bike for the open vintage class.

Leaking Fuel?
Sounds like he has another issue. It`s not the breather tube. I would be looking for small cracks.

Ty 175 Problems Aaaarghhhh!
The pilot circuit flows through two passages. One straight uo to the slide and the other in front of the slide. Both need to work. Also the o-ring on the main jet holder. Recently I re-cleaned a friends carb after he did, the pilot was still plugged up.

Improving Rear Brake Performance
Sounds like you have bad pads or some other issue. You could also just try the water trick. Get the pads and rotor really hot and pour water on them.
