Right now they need to put the third loop back in. As a spectator you do not have enough time to watch enough sections, and the riders are not riding enough sections to get real points.

The shock is not readily rebuildable, they were too soft stock. You did not say it was blown!

Huge difference with twin shocks vs the mono ride wise. Why not just make a spacer to preload the spring?

All right you are finally making sense. Static balancing will get you to the point of learning to balance with the wheel straight and know when to kick a leg out. You just have to start at the beggining, not where you want to end up. Practice with the bike full locked, using the brakes. But do not fall into the trap of just going one direction. Once you can do it in either direction for 15 minutes you are good enough to start adding in some hopping. 90 degrees left, 90 degrees right. Eventually doing it 360 degree`s. Now you can slowly work the front tire to center and balanced. But now you are good enough to not just fall over. Good Luck.

The old gasser bar clamps would work. But why would you go back to a weaker bar setup? By the way, it is 1inch and 1/8 vs 7/8.

In 1990 the world ride riders could balance all day long. They would stop and back up to the beginning of a section and then clean it. All with out the all day dab. Trouble is a team could dnf the competition due to time. The level of competition was extremely high. It has been down hill ever since. You have the best post I have seen in awhile. It is tough on the scorer`s either way we go. The penalty exists to stop the riders aggression, but it takes a scorer with balls. Most scorer`s are not out there for that purpose. That is not totally true. My 250 Beta can get about 10 more miles or more on a tank than my buddies 300RR. Now again my son`s 300 TRS was needing xtra fuel along with the 4RT. I have seen both add an xtra 32 oz, while I had plenty. Riding 20 plus mile loops you figure out mileage pretty fast.

Yeah, sorry I am a little short at times. But there is a huge difference between the 4rt and the 4T. Both of these 4 strokes are excellent machines. Both are heavy compared to a two stroke, but can be ridden well with the right rider. I have never owned either, but have spent lots of hours on each. I spend as much time on these as I do my own two stroke. The Beta is all about the motor, point and shoot at anything with confidence. The 4RT is all about superb handling and suspension. Working on either machine is not fun. The Montesa wins hands down in that department, as no jetting is needed. We ride from 3000 ft to 12,000 ft elevation. So keeping the Beta running at it`s peak is a real pain as that carb is difficult to deal with. I am coming to the end of my years of riding our Expert class. (Not near as hard as it used to be since we have Pro now.) I started in 1974 and 2020 might be the time to start riding an easy line and have more fun. I have always been a closet 4RT lover and I think the new 301 looks like the right bike for the job. But the 4RT is not for everyone. I have seen a lot of riders that have owned one, back on a two stroke within a year or two. Just as my son is getting off a TRS 300 and getting on a 300 Beta 4T. The Beta just puts a grin on his face, but I just think it`s the sound of the Arrow exhaust!

A full picture of the bike would get you more results.

Surprisingly the 4RT has a spot just off idle that the rear tire spins and looses traction easily. It would take me weeks to learn to get around this. Where most 2 strokes easily find grip.

Balancing the bike with the wheel straight is not really a thing. You have watched the top riders doing this you think, but are wrong. The wheel is into an obstacle, the suspention loaded and bike running with the brakes and clutch working!

Oh, now you have too much power and too good of brakes.?

The 250 Beta is one of the easiest bikes to kick. It is very easy to kick right legged too. Starts first or second kick every time.

it used to be the fill plug was the same.

On the other hand you would be better off to replace both the master cylinders as they are junk.

I already got a TRS. Just have to wait for my son to get his new bike

Actually my 11 year old Grandson has been riding Garrett`s (my son) TY80. I need to find a Beta 80, so I can get the next kid in line started riding trials.

Buy as new as you can. The 300 is best for higher elevation/and or top riders. 250 is great from begginers to Expert.

I find it cheaper to keep the kid on a small wheel 80. 6' 5" and growing.
