  1. So the lower steering head has bolt holes for a fender? I highly doubt it.
  2. Up to 300 in Trial 2 and no limit in the GP class! Like it should be. I wonder if they changed anything else that is good, like the weight limit.
  3. Yeah, you bought a bike that you can`t buy an ignition for. Good Luck.

    2008 Rev 3 Mods

The `08 was a very good machine as is, just ride it a lot. Other wise sell it and buy an Evo.
  5. My son had a 2015 300T. Big difference in the frame 2017 and newer.
  6. Are you not using red rubber grease when rebuilding the calipers?
  7. That is a shame for some riders, but I understand why for what you mainly ride. The true SS is like riding a modern Bultaco. No zip to it at all.
  8. Glad to see you posted about a Beta after seeing the Vertigo post. If you liked the 200, you would be doing yourself a favor buying a 250 EVO. Very tame engine, BUT it can really grunt unlike the 200. And at the same time you can let the rev`s fly and it can do anything the 300 does. Being it runs the lowest compression, it is a mild starter too. I have had mine since 2016 and it`s just so forgiving a bike.
  9. The gassers are difficult to start till you get used to them. The last Gas Gas that I bought was from an owner that could not start it. Mtself, I would not buy a bike I could not start. My two cents.
  10. First off you did not give year and if you just got it. Chances are you turned down the idle. It will never start with a low idle.
  11. The worry is the tire can still slip a little during every ride. It depends on the tire. I had a terrible weekend running a tube in a 2003 Rev 3. Dunlop seem to hold the bead tighter. I would use a quality tire lube and sealer when mounting.
  12. Gasserguy is probably right. Most Uk riders do not realize that the UK bikes are detuned compared to the rest of the world.
  13. Either the carburetor is off or you need to learn better clutch control. The 250 pro is a wonderful bike.
  14. If you do replace the bolt, it has to be hollow as that is the vent for the tranny.

    Bent frame

My son`s 2012 Sherco the frame was like Spaghetti. Started with the center bolt from the triangle to the cylinder head. No matter, loktite etc this bolt would just come out almost every ride. finally went to a long one and double nutted it. I also had to carry a 5lb hammer to straighten the pegs out all the time. And yes it would rub the chain.
  16. The 2008 with the Keihin was the best running Rev 3 of them all. I had a 2003 270 that I owned ran like a 125 and I came across a 2006 270 the same way. The 2006 I even changed carbs on, no matter what I did it never would run out right. They both seemed like the timing never advanced with the rpm.
  17. Anything that old can be tough finding parts. That is just the honest truth as this is a small sport. So either A Montesa 4RT or the latest Beta evo you can find.
  18. Takes 1 liter. The drain is the allen head. If you removed the bolt under the shifter that was a dedent for your shift drum and the stop for the kick start spring! The fill was hard to get to, like under the exhaust header top of the engine. Been decades since I had one.
  19. Just because the kickstarter does not move does not mean it is the piston. It can also be the starter itself or worse, the rod.
  20. 115-118 main. I would go the 115 if you are riding up from there and a 52 pilot jet.
  21. Yeah, I agree they look the part. But, I will stick to the old fashioned CDI bikes with a carb. Just as you like the Vertigo, I loved the Ossa but am sure glad I never owned one.
  22. Vertigo is different, nothing on that bike does anything better than the other brands. TRS is the one that has made the most progress. A better bike, and the numbers sold worldwide proves it.
  23. In theory that would be a great idea. But would it limit progress in next years designs. Maybe the stock bike, but bring rear shock, carb and CDI box?
  24. A good friend had a new 2011 300 that the top hat seals in the clutch cover were bad from day one. He went almost 18 months till he had me replace them. So you are not loosing fluid anywhere? And you are using mineral oil?
