  3. I think you need to disconect the source coil when setting the timing with a multi meter as the coils have a low resistance. Also there are 2 source coils you can use for the spark as I had no spark on my 200 and after specking to Bradford Ignitions he sugested I try the other coil and instant spark. Unfortunately I cant remember which coil was which,I think they both have similar size windings. You could give bradford Ignitions a ring or have a look at www.uk-motoplat.com. Ian

    Gas Gas Gear Lever

Hi, Whats the best option for refitting the gear lever with a flywheel weight? Obviously the lever doesnt go fully on the shaft due to the extra width of the flywheel cover, previously I have bent and filed a bit off the back of the lever, but it never seems to go right on the shaft. I was just wondering what others do? I have noticed my flywheel kit has a 10mm cover spacer (its an unknown make that is held on with a hollow nut threading into the puller threads on the flywheel) wheras my friends Hebo kit has about a 7mm cover spacer so I may try his cover on to see if it clears my flywheel and try to buy a hebo spacer if you can buy them separately? Ian

  8. My dad has a timber shed made by our local firm Hodgons (quality sheds since 19??) its about double garage size and its fine, dry and warm dont know how long they last its 10 years old now and still looks like new. These sheds come in pre built sections then bolted together on site. Ian
  9. Now the Cota from hell has a shiney new piston and barrell bored to suit, I need to spend even more money on brake shoes! Which are best and are there any brands I should avoid? As for gearing standard according to the manual is 11 - 54 or 10 - 49, is this OK? Anyway here are some pics
  10. If they use 35mm forks like the Cota 200 you can use the stanchions from a newer bike like a honda vt125 (2008?) I just had to cut a couple of inches of the bottom bore them out for 80mm and machine a circlip groove in. I am lucky as I can do this myself but its got to be cheaper than a

  13. Try Motocarb.co.uk, he can do one jetted for my Cota 200 at around
  14. Another route is to use some stanchions of something else, I used some Honda VT125 stanchions from a breakers, they are 35mm diameter but need a couple of inches cutting off and the bottom end boring out for a couple of inches and a circlip groove machining in. They cost me
  15. Its a pity Beta leave us with this to sort out as it takes a fair bit of time to do this and you would need to be confident in your mechanical abillity!!! Surely they could get better cluch plates for little extra cost. I think this is where the GasGas build quality shows as they seem to concentrate on the bike performing but the rest of the bits and pieces like the airbox etc can suffer a bit.
  16. Marking starts when front spindle is in the section till front spindle is out, I just love opening the throttle with my feet on the pegs and hanging on when I see the ends cards, then ending up in a heap just out of the section. This is good because I get a clean or whatever and the observer gets a laugh at me!!!!

  20. I'm just about to order some new fork seals and was wondering why there are 2 in each leg? Is it because 80s seals werent up to it? If so I would fit only 1 to reduce friction???? (with suitable spacer). Ian
