  1. Obviously its just a "placebo" switch to give the rider the confidence he needs to climb that muddy bank! "Ooo thats really slippy but I'll be OK if I switch it to rain" (Placebo = a medecine without any active ingredient)
  2. I down loaded the file but it only plays up till the end of Orgate then freezes (bit like my 1st Scott attempt!!!!!). Any Ideas? If I try to download it again it only takes a few seconds even though I have deleted the 1st copy and cleared my cache? Ian
  3. May I ask, why are you watching it???????????????????????????

    280 Or300

I would avoid the 02 model as they had some reliability issues, 04 onwards are OK.

    Not Running Right

My mates 06 Raga was doing something similar after swapping everything off my bike it was the PLUG cap!!! fitted new plug cap then finished the trial at Scott speed!!
  9. Try not to look at the overall result just focus on some sections you did well on, then you can look back and think i had good rides on sections x and y! I shy away from the easy route option riding round in fear of a silly 5 that can spoil your result then getting thrashed by a 60 year old on a 1947 Royal Ariel! Ian
  10. The secret is decent bar ends! I have made some that clamp the end of the grip to the bars / twist grip to minimise the chance of water or mud getting in when you fall off. I am very good at falling off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. No need to wach it now I know the result maybe we could just call the post Assen result!!!
  12. Here it is on Google earth, its quite good quality so I''ll waste some time now looking for the sections!!!

    Help!

GasGas UK are exellent as well, Bits normally come next day and always fit!
  14. Yes, Its a magic system that gives you 6 gears from 4 pairs of cogs! It means the pro engine is narrow and light and has a full 6 gears.
  15. I've got it! How about a lever on the bars with a cable that goes to the stator which can advance or retard the timing as desired But I do think its been done before (1922!)!

    Loud 300

I seem to remember there was a a problem with some of the ally centre boxes on the 04's such as the baffles coming loose or something. Some people got replacements under warrany and usually opted for the steel 03 version. Any one had this?
  17. Marzocchi's !? Gas Gas has them Sherco don't.
  18. I won several trophies in rallying (cant fall off a car) including some well known national events, I even won some medals in Enduros! Kid played with the medals, Rally trophies are in the garage I think (or thrown out, women dont see thier appeal on the mantlepiece )! never won a Trials award but cash or a spare lever would be better or perhaps some og those bling bits you can get such as annodised brake cylinder covers etc!!

    Bad Running

Have you tried removing the one way valve from the tank breather? Ive heard some have been fitted the wrong way round before. and check the petrol tap the gasket can be missaligned causing a poor fuel flow.! And rule number one before any carb tuning always used to be fit new plug, points and condensor first but now modern electrics are so reliable we just expect them to work. And if you can find a fool with a similar bike you can just swap things untill you find a fault!
  20. hi Cota, new to all this, is the cleveland trial held at "chartons"? ive just become a member so might have a pop up. (night out in the town night before, ) The Cleveland is a National trial, which starts and finishes at Castleton. The lap is about 25 miles and takes in about 36 sections. You need to have submitted an entry by post and been successful in the ballot. are spectators allowed to come on their bikes to follow the trial? NO you may not spectate on Bikes, Unless you are on a road bike and walk up to the sections!!
  21. Had it done about 5 years ago ( I will need to check !!!) with no problems at about 40 ish, my close up vision is a bit worse and I may need reading glasses in the future. I used Ultralase and had no problems but I was only a -2 to -3 prescription. The benifits are great I now dont mind riding in the rain but I still can miss flags!!!!!
  22. After reading the TMX test last week the bike sounds very good, can anyone confirm this? Does it have good traction? Is the new rear shock as good as the Ohlins used on the Gas Gas? are the forks OK? 5 Gears, whats it like on those long climbs? Across the moors with only 5 gears, is it still thrash in 4th before grabbing 5th? Any good for hopelss people like me (Too far near the bottom of the middle course) ? Just curious!!!!
  23. Sadly I have just skimmed through the Trials bit of the ACU hand book and its quite short and concise, but I do work in the Phamaceutical industry where we have more rules and regs than you can shake a stick at. The method of marking and the definitions pages from the ACU hand book could easily be stuck to the observers boards to help new observers and remind the rest of the rules. I often never know what rules I am riding to anyway! I always try the no stop method then your pleasantly surprised with the outcome!! look its a 3 not a 5!!!
