Just wondering if anyone has fitted a top yoke from the Twinshock shop to a TY175? Looks like it moves the bars to be more central to the steering line. Did it (or would it?) make much difference to the steering? Mine tends to 'flop' into turns, and it would be nice if I could slow this down a touch. (Have 360mm Betor shocks fitted, standard forks and yokes, forks flush with top yoke as per TY Trials recommendation. Steering head bearings are a bit worn and notchy though).

Just bought a second hand pinky after a few years without a trial bike. It is a 1990 can anybody tell me what is the best mixture to run it on (it seems to be running rich at the moment) the previous owner who never actually competed on it ran it at 25:1. Also any other top tips as I previously trialed a water cooled Beta so will be first time on an air cooled mono. Thanks

The frame and engine #s match 451-002195 , Can any one tell me what year this is , 80a , 80b etc ? And the real stupid ? .... are they only four speeds w/ neutral at the bottom , or do I need to split the cases and check it out for bent shift forks etc. ? Thanks for any and all responses ... Glenn PS. and yes it is fun , the little thing can even wheelie my old fat a$$ thru a floater turn ! w/a broken foo…

I just purchased a well used 1987 TY350. Can someone tell me what weight/type of oil is used in the transmission and also the quantity needed? Thanks, this is my first trials bike so I'm sure that I'll have many questions.

I was recently browsing all the results from the 2013 WTC and happened across the Manufacturer's table. I noticed that Yamaha finished the season with points. Honda did too but this could be due to there being a rider on a Honda branded Montesa so is understandable, but can anyone shed light on how Yamaha have managed to earn points? Taken from the FIM website: http://www.fim-live.com/en/sport/trial/classifications/ I would love to see what bike has awarded Yamaha points. Cheers

anyone done or heard of this conversion? it looks pretty close to me and would give you a rear disk and tubeless rim if you use the tyz wheel (which for me would be the point of the conversion) thanks Ben

A friend dropped off a TY80 for me to repair, and has since bought another bike for his lad and given me unlimited use of the TY until I can buy it off him. Nice. The bike had hundreds spent on it, including a full engine rebuild, so is in great shape mechanically. But suffers from a gear-change problem

Hi Just spent the last 12 months restoring a TY175 nearly finished. Bike starts but wont rev cleanly and bangs and pops. Any ideas - i think its probably points / condenser - but electics is the only aspect of the bike I know nothing about. Can anyone give an idiots guide to replacing condenser and points and setting up correctly. Bike has has a nut and bolt rebuild including .25 rebore. It will start but seems to have an intermittent spark - hence the popping. Any one local to Skegness or Boston in Lincs who could help? - I can bring the bike to you - would be much appreciated. Thanks

I'm in the process of swapping from an Amal throttle to a Domino throttle on my Majesty 175. However the original cable already fitted, is slightly too long and I've run out adjustment at the carb end. Anybody know a correct length cable to mate a TY175 Carb to a Domino throttle (I don't want to mess about with soldering nipples) I want to buy one of the correct length - any suggestions - do Domino make one?? Venhill?? Your ideas please

Thought I should start a new thread for this one. The pictures tell the tale better than I can. All the parts on this one seem to be steel unless there is some aluminum tubing inside the Stainless Steel mesh between the large washer/baffles.? This stainless mesh is spot welded onto the inner tube and the inner tube is full of about 1/4 inch holes. You can't see the holes unless you hold it up to the sun light. I won't burn this part out just to be safe. It is not caked with carbon deposits anyway. Just another dip in the degreaser shoud clean it up well enough. The only problem (and it may not be much of a problem) is the fiberglass packing that was oi…
