Apologies in advance for my novice question. Could someone possibly assist with regards to correct procedure for changing the gear oil on a 95 TYZ250.There is reference to 700cc capacity on the casing but i am struggling to get much more than 250cc in before it begins to flow from ithe oil level port? I appreciate 700cc will be from factory 'empty' but I have drained oil from sump and/or plug on left casing and failed to remove more than 300cc despite warming, tilting etc. any advice much appreciated. Any of you guys know whether Kato did an aluminium swing arm for the TY 250, I have seen one advertised but any of the pictures I have seen only show the 175's he did with one like it on them Thanks

Hi guys. New to this forum. My boys used to have a Ty80 and I've just bought 2 for my grandsons. A couple of years before they can ride them but one does need work. Anyone out there have a few rear wheel spokes or know where I can get some. I'm not going to respoke the whole wheels so hoping I can just get a few. Thanks

Thought I should start a new thread for this one. The pictures tell the tale better than I can. All the parts on this one seem to be steel unless there is some aluminum tubing inside the Stainless Steel mesh between the large washer/baffles.? This stainless mesh is spot welded onto the inner tube and the inner tube is full of about 1/4 inch holes. You can't see the holes unless you hold it up to the sun light. I won't burn this part out just to be safe. It is not caked with carbon deposits anyway. Just another dip in the degreaser shoud clean it up well enough. My 1984 TY250 mono came with a front disc brake conversion. It needs to be rebuilt but I don’t know the type of calliper or master cylinder to get rebuild kits. Does anyone know?

hi all at some stage i will need to replace both wheels and was wondering if there was a known set of wheels that fit eg dt stuff. was thinking that if the other wheels had a different spoke configuration it might be easier to get different rims? cheers

I have a TY175 that has a delay before returning to a slow idle. When cutting the throttle, it will stay at a high idle for 3 to 5 seconds before returning to a slow idle. Just guessing... but if a slow idle is 800 rpm, the fast is maybe 1300. Besides that it runs fine. Is that normal or to be expected? I have cleaned the carb multiple times, checked the reeds and gone from a 30 to 32 and then 35 pilot jet but it is much the same. I tried spraying WD40 all around the intake system to see if there was a leak. It is mostly stock with dual stage reeds, fmf muffler and a little weight removed from the flywheel. Hi all, I don’t want to be ‘that guy’ by asking a whole bunch of questions here rather than doing my own research however… I have found and am about to buy, subject to a visit, a fully restored 1984 TY250 Mono, (in Canada) and not being any kind of expert on these bikes, I would hugely appreciate any advice or things to look for on this bike. I’m not looking to modify it or tune it, not at the moment anyway, rather to learn/update skills and have fun on it. Hi I've had my ty 250r mono for a while now and has Been a very capable machine for my needs . The only problem I have is the mono shock spring unit is to soft and it bottoms out and the chain grinds . It's on the max setting for rebound . I'm 17 st so might be the fact I'm riding it or may need a replacement? At 360 quid for a new one any ideas welcome cheers stu

My TY250C with electrexworld ignition stopped while idling waiting for the guy ahead of me to ride a section, no spark including after disconnecting killswitch & removing plug cap My friend has the 1 of their ignitions in his 175 & looking at the parts list for both kits the cdi/coil unit are the same for both so we can substitute to eliminate that, can't find any information on testing the stator though Can anyone point me in the direction of how to test the various components so I can order whatever has failed

On turning the fuel tap on I noticed petrol pouring out of the carburettor breather pipe at the bottom of the carburettor? Is this because the needle and seat is not shutting off?

This has possibly been asked / covered before. Has anyone got info on the numbers of original Majesty Yamahas 250s produced?? I am curious to know how many Yam framed bikes were modified, as well as numbers of the later Godden framed bikes were produced. In terms of - Handling Finding grip Riding position Likes/Dislikes Is the Yamaha better built than the Scorpa Are the motors exactly the same in terms of power/porting Was the TYZ a dog or is still a good bike today I've never ridden either, just like the look of the TYZ TYZ Frame looks as if it shares some similarities with the later Cota 315R ......Does it?? Hi guys, I’ve been working hard at restauring a nice ty175B 1975 and after cleaning the carb and changing piston rings, i still can’t get any power after first gear. But if i take off the air filter, I get enough torque to shift and I have great acceleration. What should I do ? I was thiking maybe a mikuni carb fixing kit, new seals and gaskets ?

I am sure that most of you know that in the early 1980s Majesty produced two works bikes fitted with works Yamaha 250cc, OW10 engines (from the 1973 cantilever bike), one for Mick Andrews and the other for John Hulme. the bike that Mick andrews rode is well documented but Johns bike is not, so for the first time in nearly thirty years here are photos of Johns bike. Due to the home projects I had going (new boat shed) plus some upcoming winter weather and the extended time it took to get a cylinder re-bored and plated, new piston, etc, I have not actually started putting the engine back together. That is because of one other nagging problem that is bothering me. That is the missing needle out of the upper needle bearing cage that was part of the engine when I tore it down. I noticed that it was missing from the cage when I took the piston off the con rod. There was a rag under the piston, but with my luck it could have found it's way down into the cases under the flywheel. I have looked everywhere for it…
