2008 Scott Trial- Takahisa Fujinami 4th (Winner Ian Austermuhle) 2010 Scottish 6 Day- Albert Cabestany 9th (Winner Alex Wigg) Proof (If needed) that current world trials are going in the wrong direction. OK Dougie would have won this years Scottish but you get my point. The above results are far more interesting than the current world trial results, and I bet the events are too. How about this for a world trial "Template" - 50 Sections - 50 Miles - 1 Lap - 4 Petrol Stops - 10 Miles / 10 Sections Between Stops - 5 Time Check's (4 Petrol Stops and the End) - No Minders - No Intercoms - No Outside Assistance, major parts of the bike marked OK I know Adam &…

Hi All, Just a hypothetical to fill a long boring night shift. We've reached the end of the season and one of the things that has struck me is number of times Andy has talked about the "man-made" element of outdoor trials and the severity of them, pushing the GPs to a "circus-like" trial. These bikes will do anything so where is the limit. The stuff is great to watch but it's great to watch the best riders in the world compete on any terrain What would we, the trials riders/afficionados of the world like to see in the championship in terms of rules, time limits, the nature of the sections that sort of stuff. Personal view; go back to no-stop, all sections in the World…

A fantastic result in Ireland for 2008 Youth A class Stars Richardson, Walker and Morphett. The Sherco star from Richmond seems to be in fantstic form and may dominate all year? Young Morphett is the reigning British Champ and is getting to grips with the Beta Evo and is very capeable of a huge leap up the championshiop table... The Cumbrian fans at Armathwaite however will all be urging 'Keswick Boy Wonder ' Jonny Walker to turn on the form and top the podium. Will the home ground be an advantage or will the pressure be too much for the 'Ace Trial Team Star Man' ? WTC co-ordinator and Jonny Walker fan (the whiskey) thinks he will rise to the occasion on the ACE gasser…

I've seen WTC rounds in UK, France, Andorra, Czech Republic and Poland over the years but never have I seen such atrocious observing decisions as I witnessed this weekend. A few of the many examples Saturday section 4: Bou still for at least 4-5 seconds and bike stalled, got away with a 0 Saturday section 3: Ferrer given a 5 for the merest of stops, was not 'technically' stationary either Sunday section 8: Grattarola having the ride of the first lap and blitzing the rocks that most others (inc Bou) 5'd and got given a 5 yet, same section other riders actually stopped getting away with it. Sunday section 2: sheppard stopping, going backwards, going sideways and gettin…

What did people think of the commentary team at Fort William?? We had plenty of laughs at their expense, though I am not convinced they knew a lot about trials or the riders. Instead of cleans we had "clears", dabs become "taps", there were even some "prods" in there! Dabill became Dabeel, Michael Brown better known as Mike and Harry Harvey became Harvey Harry.
