Are there any logo designers out there? My club is seeking designs for our new 2008 club t-shirts. Post your designs on here and my clubs committee will choose the best design. The winning designer will be sent a free t-shirt and you'll also receive free club membership until the end of the year. If your not lucky in your design don't worry there will always be next year. I am looking to start welding and have no idea about the differences in type, what different types do etc..... I don't know if a Tig,Mig, Arc welder would be best as I know literally nothing about them. It would be for welding mild steel, aluminium(possibly). Any help or advice appreciated. Cheers, Lloyd

Hey all, I read a lot about tyre pressures for trials being in the range of 3-5 psi for the rear and 5-6 for the front. Obviously this depends wildly on terrain, rider weight, skill. But my question today is when do you actually check these pressures? I know that if I was to put 4 psi in my rear in the shade, after a quick ride in the sun this becomes 5 psi. Am I looking at setting the pressure to say a pressure and then just expecting that it will go up? Or am I suppose to ride it around then come back and adjust tyre pressures to the correct values? I guess in essence I'm asking is the tyre pressure a cold or hot measurement? If a rider says he/she runs 4 psi in th…

I have 2 new Dunlop D803 Tubeless tires and it seems impossible to mount these without tearing the bead.. It appears that they are just a tad undersized. Has anybody else had any isses with the D803 and getting them mounted without ruining portions of the bead area? I have installed dozens if Michelins without issues but this is my 1st Dunlop and I am struggling.. Just curious as if anybody else has had issues with this tire? Thanks

Hi all I'm close to buying a trials bike to use for local trail riding and playing about - and I might do the odd trial from time to time too. I live in the Frech Alps and have been tooling about on my DRZ400. It's fine on the jeep tracks, but all around me are amazing looking 'goat' tracks and areas to 'play' which the DRZ is just way to big and heavy for. So, cue the trials bike. The last trials bike I had was a twin shock TY175 back in the early 80's when I was riding class C. I was just wondering what sort of fuel range I might get out of a modern (say 1998 onwards) bike? I'm only planning to spend around 12 to 15 hundred quid, so buying a Scorpa Long Ride for exam…

I've been thinking of buying Ryan Young's Tyre Beader but it never seems so important until you have to turn or change a tyre again. I put a new one on this morning in about 7 or 8 minutes, then it took me nearly an hour to get it back in the bead. Eventually managed it with a ratchet strap and a high power airline when I gave up on trying at home. I'm sure Michelin are making their tyres with a larger diameter these days. I didn't even use a lever to get it back on today, it went on by hand. Seems strange that on a road bike (where you've got nice painted alloys) the tyres can be a real b1tch to get on, but trials bikes (which could stand a bit more aggro) slip on no …

I believe the wheelie is very important to practice as it give's you an understanding of the power of the engine and when it come's in on the throttle. This has helped me in trial's when you come to a section and have to give sudden power to get over something,rider's either give it to much or not enough that tell's me they don't have the feel of there throttle and the power of there engine.

Hope this doesn't upset anybody and being new to trialing I don't want to upset the apple cart but at the last trial i did (only my second) I finished and didn't come last, got a couple of cleans but my points total was 93 on the easy course, well chuffed with that. However, in joint first place on the easy course were 2 guys who only dropped 1 mark, my thoughts are that should they not be doing the harder course, shurely there not exactly taxing themselves if after 40 sections they've only "dabbed" once? The mate I go with who's infinately better than i am does the hard course and came 3rd from last (had a bad day) but say's he won't do the easy as it is just that - e…

As the title states what is your preference to chain maintenance , is it soak in oil , spray lube , chain grease or spray a light oil onto chain . Or is there another method , share your maintenance tips. Keep ya feet up ! !

Hi all, Some of you regular Viewers(?)will know that i have been having problems with my sherco `04 290.The persisting problem is a that it doesnt rev cleanly at lower revs,and the tick over is a bit rough.Open the throttle she will pick up ,then eventually run smooth. I`ve put a new stator on,tried my mates coil,his carb and his fly wheel,different plugs.Nothing will cure it.Its also on super unleaded as recomended,with the correct oil mix.It does seem better with the choke on,so i played around with mixture screw....still the same What can be causing this Steve

Seems the season has been riddled with bad luck, a point here, a clean there! Just watched the section 15 vid from Hawkstone, a five for WHAT? Even he had to go back and ck ! Was'nt there so cannot comment. Just bad luck! Separating him from the top in the series. Fuji has done amazingly this year! Hats off to him! GO for the 100 Doug!

Hi All, Gutted, went out for my first trial on a 2005 Sherco 290 I recently bought, had a good 3 hours riding and then sat talking to someone on tickover in neutral for 5 mins or so, then I opened the throttle to clean it out and it wouldn't rev properly, there was a kind of delay on the throttle, I opened it wide open and it wouldn't rev out fully, so I decided to take it for a run up the track, but when I put it into 1st gear and released the clutch, it set off in REVERSE!! so I killed it immediately, and since then it won't start?! Any suggestions as to the cause much appreciated! Andy
