Donning my flamesuit! I was watching Transworld sport yesterday and it seems that global warming is likely to close some ski resorts situated at lower altitudes, indeed two resorts in Scotland are up for sale. So will we benefit from these closures? Ski resorts usually make for really good terrain and there's not much else you can do with them except declare them nature reserves.

Ok chaps, im in the market for a new bike, Got a Beamish and a 99 mont (which will be going, its lovely hint ). Had always wanted to try a really new bike to compare to my 'modern' Montesa 315 and yesterday i got the chance to ride a '13 beta 250 - it was a different class to the old mont in can tell you, grip and turns we amazing. Now i had always fancied a Gasser based on looks, as i had never riden a new one of either, however the beta has seriously turned my head. what are your opinions on say a 2011 GG v 2011 Beta Evo. While replacing the chain tensioner block on my Rev-3 I noticed that the tensioner arm itself was very loose. It wouldn't tighten either and closer inspection revealed that the thread had amost completely stripped from the hole in the swingarm. I ended up having to tap it out to 10mm but I'm struggling to find a replacement bolt or come up with an alternative solution that allows the tensioner arm to move up and down freely. The original bolt is partially threaded with the unthreaded section being of slightly larger diameter than the rest (so that it fits snugly into the hole in the arm) and of a length slightly more than the thickness of the arm (I realise all chain tens…

I bought a new pair of Novogar trials boots last July and to my disapointment I have wore a hole through the sole. The hole is about 20 mm x 30mm and located on the righthand boot instep. Has anyone had a pair of boots resoled or should i bite the bullet and buy a new pair maybe just use these in the dry months ? I think at

If there is such a thing, I feel I should nominate myself! .... Just getting my bike ready for trial this Sunday (should have done all this after last time, I know) - quick clean, changed filter, checked fluids, pumped up leaky rear, filled up fuel...all the usual stuff, then thought I'd just start it up. Nothing!...I tried choke in, choke out, not a chance. Took plug out and checked/cleaned it, still no joy. Cleaned out carb...Then I spotted the problem... no lanyard fitted! Derrr. Two kicks and a massive blue cloud later it was running sweetly! I guess it's the simple things sometimes!

I was chatting to a friend of mine when he came up with an idea, just wondering what your thoughts on it are. The idea is this: To save time at timed trials (i.e. SSDT) could fitting a tube but not pulling the valve through and still running the tyre as a tubeless one work. If you got a puncture, or similar problem all you'd need to do is get rid of the old valve, pull the new tube valve through and pump it up. What do you all think?

Hi all iv been watching alot of the 80,s 90,s and 00,s World trials videos over the past few weeks as i injured my shoulder mountain bikeing. And obviously now I want another trials bike to injur my other shoulder on lol, looking at what alot of the 90,s bikes are capable of how much better realy is say a 2009 evo or rev3 over a 1999 techno, especially from a novices point of view. The topic title says it all, I want to hear what people want from trials? I want to get better each time I ride, What i would like is for motorcycle trials to be a more like cycle trials, I find it brilliant to watch cycle trials riders out practising and trying different techniques and approach's to obstacles I recognise observed competitive motorycle trials is an event where each man ride's his own trial (which is good and I also enjoy that aspect) but I would like to see a shakedown type practise session at the start or end of each event where people practise and push themselves to try things and riding in groups does bring your riding on a lot in comparison t…

I purchased a 2023 300 Gas Gas txt Gp in the USA. Is it possible to covert it to a 250 by putting on a 250 cylinder, head and piston on it. My issue with the bike is it has to much compression for me to start it. I can start it but during the course of a trials event it it wears me out. I’m a 66 year old intermediate rider that weighs 150. Im not concerned about power, I just want to make it easier to kick. I would b open to any other suggestions like a low compression head etc….

Only started recently but bought 2 bikes inside 2 days by, erm accident, or overexcitment, or moon phasing. Have a Beta 08 Rev3, and GG TXT250 14. I love the GG for its power and handling, the Beta is good in a different way, but its age doesn't help. The GG is a 2 kick bike minimum but the Beta is a Swine. I'm keeping it to get others interested but I have to start it for them. 3" long lever on the left! Who thought that was a good idea? My Beta dirtbike on the other hand doesn't have a kickstart XTrainer button only) . And its brilliant. On a Trials bike, ride to next section. Stop bike. Walk section often on hill. Walk back. Hi all, Since I bought a GasGas last September, I have been practicing almost everyday in my backyard. In the beginning, I developed pains in both wrists and elbows. Although most of them went away as I got used to it, the pain in my left elbow remains (Golfer's elbow). I thought it would go away sometime but it seems heading south gradually. I wonder if I can get some suggestions to cope with it by changing riding style or the bike settings (higher handle?). My doctor said that stopping the activity would be the best cure but he can do injection of anti-inflammation drugs in the elbow, if I want. I'd appreciate your advises.
